A young boy has been hospitalized with head injuries after being hit by a car on his way to school.
On Monday morning, the incident occurred on Sydenham Rd in Marrickville, located in Sydney’s inner-west.
Emergency services were immediately called to the scene.
According to NSW Ambulance Inspector Mick Corlis, the scene was quite distressing.
He described the boy’s injuries, stating that he had suffered a deep cut to his head.
Bystanders had already administered first aid before paramedics arrived and controlled the bleeding.
The boy was then transported to Sydney Children’s Hospital in stable condition.
That morning, this incident was one of three accidents in school zones across the Sydney metropolitan region.
Fortunately, none of the other children involved was seriously injured.
