The chairman of the Kaizer Chiefs, Kaizer Motaung Sr., has delivered a major statement on the club’s youth structure. He also discusses their transfer market ambitions for January.

In recent years, a number of young development products have made the transition to the senior team, as noted by the head of the Chiefs. He has also hailed Njabulo Blom’s move to the Major League Soccer in the United States as a major achievement. Blom made his Amakhosi debut in 2019, at the same time as Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, and there are high hopes that Mshini will also become a star for this squad.

“Our development teams have performed admirably. They all won trophies, which tells you a lot about our development structures next door (at the Kaizer Chiefs Academy),” Motaung remarked on the club’s website in his holiday greeting.
“I am quite pleased with what is occurring there. We may not instantly see the results of our efforts, but we are on the right route.”

TRANSFER BAN BY FIFA HELPED THE CLUB.
Motaung Sr. believes that the FIFA transfer ban in 2020 was a blessing in disguise because it pushed the Glamour Boys to use younger players.
“We must remember that the team is in its current state since the FIFA embargo prevented us from signing players.” We were compelled to elevate several talented adolescents from within the organization. This trend will continue in the upcoming season, while we also look to the transfer market to address our immediate issues,’ he concluded.
“I believe they will soon witness the rewards of our progress in terms of the young players who have joined the first squad, and I hope our fans will give these players a chance to establish their footing. We are preparing for a better season than the previous one. Our ultimate objective is to reach the top and remain there, where we belong,” he continued.
