What time is the Powerball jackpot draw tonight? Everything you need to know about Thurday draw

Punters are scrambling to get their tickets before the massive $60million Powerball Jackpot on Thursday night.

The draw, which will be held at 8:30pm (AEST), is the third largest Australian lottery jackpot so far in 2022 with one-in-six adults expected to have a ticket.

Channel 7 is broadcasting tonight’s draw as the network does every week.

The final results for tonight’s lottery will be uploaded to the official Powerball website.

The jackpot has soared to $60million after there were no division one winners for the last four weeks.

Organisers have revealed some tips to increase your chances of claiming the cash, including what numbers are the luckiest and what locations have sold the most winning tickets.

‘There have been six Powerball division one winning entries so far in 2022 that have collected more than $226.6 million.’ the Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said.

‘Three of these wins have been in New South Wales, with one each in Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia.’

‘Two-thirds of those winning entries were QuickPick, where the numbers are chosen for you by computer when you purchase a ticket.’

Mr Hart also said that syndicates had performed well this year, with one-third of division one winners being part of a group.

Also accounting for a third of 2022 wins were the unique Powerhit entries, which guarantee one of your numbers is the important Powerball.

Also recommended by Mr Hart is to have an online account where you can check your numbers directly after the draw – rather than going to the newsagent or waiting for Powerball to contact you.

‘Imagine starting Friday the 13th as Australia’s newest multi-millionaire?’ Mr Hart said.

Entries close at 7.30pm on Thursday with the draw held a couple of hours later.
