Vladimir Putin has vowed to defeat the West on the ‘battlefield’ and suggested he could escalate the war in Ukraine

Vladimir Putin has threatened to deepen the conflict in Ukraine and vowed to beat the West on the “battlefield.”

At a televised meeting with MPs this afternoon, the Russian president declared: “Today we hear that they aim to defeat us on the battlefield.

Let them try, is all I can say.

For decades, “the West as a whole, led by the US, has been exceedingly confrontational against Russia.”

In Ukraine, Putin continued, “Russia has not started anything seriously.”

We haven’t really begun anything yet, he remarked menacingly.

The West is turning into a totalitarian regime. Its latest attempt to restrain Russia has failed. We are currently in the early stages of the shift to a multipolar world.
