Utah has the most aggressive drivers, while North Dakota has the calmest

The nation’s most combative drivers are found in Utah, while the most composed drivers are found in North Dakota.

A Forbes Advisor study of 5,000 US drivers revealed that 22% had seen an accident brought on by road rage, with at least 100 respondents from each state.

According to Forbes, more than 50% of Utahn drivers have admitted to receiving an insulting or impolite gesture from a fellow car, and 76% claim to have been honked at by an irritated driver.

The top-rated driver was from North Dakota, scoring 62.03 out of 100, while Utah received a score of 100.

Additionally, drivers in Utah, Missouri, and Colorado acknowledged that one in four of them knew someone who had been hurt in a road rage collision.

Utah driver Linda Miller told ABC 4: “I’m not shocked.” “I simply witness the aggression that’s occurring on the roadways every day as I travel.”

Instead of being courteous and allowing someone in, “We’ve simply gotten so unpleasant and confrontational,” the speaker laments.

Road anger is “something commonly called in,” according to Utah Highway Patrol Sergeant Cameron Roden, and police frequently see tailgating, inappropriate lane changes, and excessive speeds.

According to Roden of ABC 4, “a lot of those actions are quite risky and they do cause a lot of accidents.”

Roden said that since May, officials have stopped around 1,500 cars despite a new legal amendment that permits them to prosecute drivers with reckless driving if they surpass 105 mph.

With a score of 99.62 out of 100, Missouri is not far behind Utah in terms of the angrier drivers.

50 and 54 percent, respectively, of Missourians apparently confess to enjoying a nice remark or unpleasant gesture at bothersome drivers.

The percentage of drivers who reported having a gun pointed at them by another car was highest in the Show-Me State, at 8%.

Colorado is the third-worst state, scoring 94.74 out of 100.

According to Forbes, drivers in the Centennial State acknowledged that 14% of them had been pursued by irate drivers who got out of their cars to shout or confront them.

In Oklahoma, the fourth-most unsatisfied state, more over half of the drivers claim to have experienced an unpleasant gesture while driving, and even more claim that other vehicles have tailgated or honked at them.

Overall, New Mexico placed sixth, although drivers there outperformed Colorado’s in terms of having an incident while being followed (15%).

Additionally, a third of them acknowledged knowing someone who had been hurt in a crash caused by road rage.

Delaware, Nevada, Maryland, Indiana, Washington, and the other six states included in the top 10 list of states with the most aggressive drivers.

The calmest states are mostly found along the East Coast, despite the fact that the angrier drivers are mostly found in the Western region of the United States.

With a score of 63.72 out of 100, Pennsylvania is the second state with the happiest drivers, after North Dakota.

Michigan, Florida, New York, Texas, Virginia, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee come after the northeastern state.

According to Forbes, however, it seems that regardless of where one lives in the US, the majority – 85 percent – have experienced at least some kind of road rage.

More over 20% of respondents acknowledged seeing a motorist cause an accident while enraged on the road, while 19% reported witnessing an angry driver lose control of their car.

More than 15% of incidents included a victim losing control of their car.

The most common actions of irate drivers include honking, tailgating, making rude or obscene gestures, cutting others off, insulting or yelling at them, and driving too fast, among other things.

According to Forbes, aggressive drivers acknowledged that stress and another driver’s “driving badly” were the main causes of their road rage.

Between driving slowly and being late, there were other causes.
