The United States Government has recognized Ruth Benson-Idahosa, daughter of the late founder of Church of God Mission, Archbishop Benson Idahosa, for her significant efforts in combatting human trafficking.
In a special award ceremony, Secretary of State Antony Blinken unveiled the 2023 trafficking persons report, emphasizing the United States’ firm commitment to addressing this grave violation of human rights and personal autonomy.
Secretary Blinken reiterated that the United States stands united with others in the global pursuit to eradicate human trafficking.
Honoring Tip Report Heroes and Ruth Benson-Idahosa’s Achievement
The award ceremony also served as an occasion to honor the 2023 Tip Report Heroes, recognizing individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the fight against human trafficking.
Among the distinguished recipients was Ruth Benson-Idahosa from Nigeria.
Her organization, dedicated to empowering survivors of sex trafficking through transformative programs, received the special award on June 24th, 2023.
