UK Government announces the extension of Trevor Ringland’s appointment as Special Envoy to the United States on Northern Ireland

The renewal of Trevor Ringland’s appointment as Special Envoy to the United States on Northern Ireland was announced today by the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, the Rt. Hon. Brandon Lewis CBE MP. The appointment of Mr. Ringland has been extended till October 31, 2022.

In June 2021, it was announced that the Special Envoy for Northern Ireland to the United States had been appointed. Mr. Ringland’s work in the US did not formally begin until October 2021 due to the global pandemic.

As a result, the Secretary of State has decided to extend the job for a short time, until the end of October 2022.

In support of the government’s goal of making Northern Ireland a great place to live, work, and conduct business, Mr. Ringland will continue to be in charge of promoting Northern Ireland interests across the US.
