UK Export Finance names Samir Parkash acting CEO

Press statement

Samir is slated to run the United Kingdom’s award-winning export credit agency and assist British exporters in obtaining the financing they need to expand overseas and generate jobs in the United Kingdom.

Today, UK Export Finance (UKEF) announced the appointment of Samir Parkash as interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He succeeds Louis Taylor, who recently joined the British Business Bank.
Samir has over 30 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry and has served as UKEF’s Chief Risk Officer since 2018. He will serve as interim CEO while the search for a permanent replacement is ongoing.
Samir Parkash, interim CEO at UKEF said:

I am honored and pleased to assume the position of temporary CEO and to head a department that advances the economy, supports jobs, and strengthens international commerce. In recent years, the UKEF’s performance has been exemplary. Our guarantees, insurance, and lending facilitate increased exports. I look forward to keeping UKEF at the forefront of the government’s plan to stimulate the economy and businesses.

UK Export Finance’s spectrum of support for exporters guarantees that British exporters with international expansion aspirations have access to finance and insurance.
In the previous fiscal year, the UK Export Finance issued £7.4 billion in support of UK exports. This placed money in people’s pockets and offered job stability for British employees, contributing £4.3 billion (GVA) to the growth of the UK economy and supporting an estimated 72,000 employment.
The Permanent Secretary of the Department of International Trade, James Bowler, stated:

During this interim period, Samir will give both amazing knowledge and continuity. I am grateful that he has stepped forward to guarantee that UKEF stays committed to delivering the world-class service for which it is famous internationally.
