The mother carrying the infant is pressed awkwardly against the bus’s center pole with one leg lifted.

Eventually, the bus driver and a male passenger from the rear of the vehicle interfere to separate the combatants.

The infant reportedly suffered no injuries during the incident.

Tom Brown, a union spokesperson for bus drivers, told Nine News that the 100 bus route, along which the incident occurred, is notorious among drivers.

Mr. Brown stated, “Drivers are terrified to travel on Route 100, and it’s no wonder given the regular occurrence of incidents.”

Peter Allen, another union spokesperson, stated that drivers are sick and tired of the everyday violence they witness.

The 100 bus travels into the city from the southeast suburb of Forest Lake.

It is not the only suburban route in Brisbane where drivers report an increase in violence.

The 110, which travels from the south-western suburb of Inala into the city, and the 330, which traverses the northern suburbs, also have a poor reputation.

The LNP-led Brisbane City Council and the Labor state government are engaged in a passing-the-buck competition about the safety of Brisbane’s buses.

Regarding who is accountable for enhancing the safety of Brisbane’s buses, both parties throw fingers at the other.

The Brisbane Labor Council opposition has demanded that someone take responsibility for the issue.

Labor councillor Jared Cassidy stated, “It’s a sad reality that Brisbane city council bus drivers are not safe on the job.”
