According to testimony given in court, Peter Koenig made sure Bruce Saunders’ legs were exposed while feeding him into a woodchipper to make it appear accidental.

After Mr. Saunders, 54, passed away in November 2017 while working on a property north of Brisbane, Gregory Lee Roser, 63, is currently on trial for murder.

The Crown claims Sharon Graham, 61, asked Roser and Koenig to kill Mr. Saunders and make it appear as though it was an accident so she could collect her ex-$750,000 partner’s life insurance policy.

Following the death of Bruce Saunders, 54, while he was working on a site north of Brisbane in November 2017, Gregory Lee Roser, 63, is currently on trial for murder.

The Crown claims Sharon Graham, 61, instructed Roser and Peter Koenig to kill Mr. Saunders and make it appear like an accident so she could collect the $750,000 life insurance policy owned by her ex-partner.

The jury has seen police film showing Mr. Saunders’ legs sticking out of a woodchipper at the Goomboorian property outside of Gympie after he had cut down trees there with Roser and Koenig.

Before they brought the body to the chipper, Roser repeatedly assaulted Mr. Saunders with a metal bar, Koenig testified in Brisbane Supreme Court on Wednesday.

Koenig claimed that after pushing Mr. Saunders into the machine with a branch, he stopped while the man’s legs were still protruding, giving the appearance that it had been an accident.

Koenig, who pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact to murder in June, said he did it “just to leave a little bit of Bruce there, I think, for the cops to see it.”

He claimed that his shaking hands prevented him from dialing triple zero, but Roser was able to make a call to Graham before giving him the phone.

Koenig concurred, telling Graham, “The task is finished; Bruce is no longer with us.”

In order to lead the neighbors to believe there had been an accident, Koenig claimed Roser then started yelling “something like… oh Bruce, what have you done.”

Before the cops showed up, Roser reportedly told him they needed to “set the record straight.” Koenig.

According to reports, Koenig (left), Roser (center), Graham (right), and Mr. Saunders engaged in a “love quadrangle.”

Since Graham had ordered him to kill a man for money before, Koenig first did not think Mr. Saunders would die and did not forewarn him.

He claimed that earlier in 2017, Graham had asked him to kill another ex-partner, Barry Collins, and “make it look like a truck accident.”

She was the recipient of it since he had a sizable superannuation fund, according to Koenig.

I merely agreed to it to keep her happy, but he is still alive today, so I didn’t actually do anything.

Koenig claimed that because he regarded Mr. Saunders as a friend, he too refrained to kill him.

The defendants, Graham (right) and Roser (left), were romantically involved at the time of the alleged murder.

According to testimony given in court, Koenig had the idea, “Oh, it’s not going to happen,” after they had finished clearing trees on the property for a third weekend in a row without any trouble.

However, Koenig claimed he saw Mr. Saunders fall to the ground as they were leaving.

He was reportedly twitching when he turned around to see Mr. Saunders lying on the ground on his back.

Greg used a bar and hit Mr. Saunders in the head a few more times while he was there.

“What the f*** are you doing?” I yelled. and he declared, “I think I murdered him,” adding, “He’s dead.”

Roser had a terrible back, according to Koenig, so he assisted in carrying Mr. Saunders over to the chipper.

Koenig acknowledged ownership of the metal bar Roser used and later put it in his truck.

Koenig claimed that due to Roser’s back pain, he assisted in carrying Mr. Saunders to the chipper (shown).

According to testimony given in court, Koenig had an intimate relationship with Graham, who was seeing Roser at the time of her ex-partner Mr. Saunders’ murder.

Graham is accused of arranging Mr. Saunders’ murder for months while in a “love triangle” with Roser, Koenig, and Mr. Saunders.

Graham has maintained her innocence in the killing of Mr. Saunders, but Justice Martin Burns on Tuesday ordered that she and Roser be prosecuted separately.

At the time of the passing of her ex-partner Mr. Saunders (above), Koenig and Graham were intimately involved, the court heard.

Koenig acknowledged that he had shared pornographic images with Graham as recently as January 2018 and that over the course of five years, he had amassed over 1000 images of her in folders with names like “hard core,” “wonderful times,” “breast,” and “trouble.”

Koenig, however, refuted the accusation that he killed Mr. Saunders because he was “obsessed and fascinated” with Graham, claiming instead that he “loved her” and that the two of them were “essentially brothers and sisters.”

Koenig declared, “I didn’t kill him.”

The trial for Roser goes on.
