Trump releases video rant branding January 6 Committee findings a ‘monstrous lie’

Former President Donald Trump has released a five-minute video in which he rants about how the findings of the January 6 Committee were a “monstrous fraud.”

Former President Donald Trump has released a five minute video in which he denies the findings of the January 6 Committee
Trump denies in the video, which was broadcast to his Truth Social platform on Friday evening, that he was ultimately responsible for the 2021 Capitol uprising.

Trump stated, “The unelective committee did not offer a single shred of proof that I intended or desired violence at our capitol.” “There is no evidence since the accusation is unfounded and a hideous lie.”

There was no uprising, nor was there going to be one. It was fabricated by these sick people,’ Trump said, adding that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the mayor of Washington, D.C., refused to heed his request for up to 20,000 National Guard troops to be stationed around the Capitol.

Former President Donald Trump has issued a five-minute video refuting the January 6 Committee’s findings.

The final report of the committee holds Trump accountable for the 2021 Capitol uprising.

Trump then downplayed the events of that day and addressed some of the conspiracy theories that have evolved in the period afterwards, including the notions that the Capitol’s doors were “thrown wide” and that “government informants” were involved in the violence.

Trump argued that the events of January 6 were not an insurrection. They were a protest that tragically spiraled out of hand, which the left has now weaponized.

Trump lamented, “The committee excised the portion of my address in which I urged protestors to make their views known peacefully and patriotically, but nobody ever says that.”

During the video, Trump argued against the select committee’s conclusion that he did not respond to the incident for 187 minutes, defending his conduct on January 6, 2021.

President Donald Trump is depicted speaking at the Stop The Steal protest in Washington on January 6, 2021, with the White House in the backdrop, prior to the Capitol riot.

Trump maintained that he issued two tweets encouraging ‘peace and respect’ 25 minutes after the Capitol was invaded and a statement half an hour later.

Trump said, “I told protestors to go home in peace and with respect.”

The report, however, indicates that none of these tweets had any discernible effect on the violent protesters.

The analysis concluded that neither the 2:38pm nor the 3:13pm tweets had any effect.

Trump again repeated his assertion that he had ‘urged the deployment of 10,000 to 20,000 National Guard personnel’ to ensure the safety of the event prior to the disturbance.

The committee has directly denied this assertion in its executive report.Trump disputes the committee's conclusion that he did not respond to the riot for 187 minutes, claiming that he issued two tweets urging 'peace and respect'. “The select committee did not find any evidence of this.” In fact, President Trump’s own acting secretary of defense, Christopher Miller, denied this explicitly under oath, according to the report.

During the committee hearings, the former president also refuted an allegation that Trump ‘lunged for the steering wheel’ of his presidential limousine.

Trump blamed the committee, stating, ‘They pushed a ludicrous and discredited claim that I attempted to seize control of the presidential limousine by lunging for the steering wheel, and they believe it. Nobody believes that!” he exclaimed.

Trump also continued to promote the erroneous idea that the election was stolen, despite the fact that the panel did not address the issue.

He stated, “The election was a corrupt fiasco.”

Trump contests the committee’s conclusion that he did not respond to the disturbance for 187 minutes, alleging that he sent out two tweets encouraging ‘peace and respect’ during that time. Earlier this week, the committee is pictured holding its final meeting on Capitol Hill in Washington.

On Thursday, the committee presented an 845-page report describing the conclusions of its 18-month inquiry, which was based on more than 1,000 witness interviews and over a million pages of source material. With the White House in the background, President Donald Trump is pictured speaking at the Stop The Steal rally in Washington on January 6, 2021 ahead of the Capitol riot

The committee discovered a “multi-part plot” hatched by Trump and his closest associates with the intention of overturning his 2020 election loss.

The study links Trump’s falsehoods about widespread election fraud to talks he had with several of his associates prior to Election Day, indicating that his plot was ‘premeditated,’ according to the committee.

After executing his plan by doubting the legitimacy of the election results on election night — “Frankly, we did win this election,” he told the television cameras — he distributed intentionally false claims of election fraud.Rioters are seen trying to break through a police barrier at the Capitol in Washington during the siege

According to various committee interviews, many of Trump’s White House advisers warned him the claims were not accurate, and his team lost a series of lawsuits challenging the results. But the former president remained steadfast.

The committee wrote that the misleading allegations “incited his supporters to violence on January 6.” Trump summoned them to Washington and, in an impassioned speech, encouraged them to march to the Capitol despite the fact that “some were angry and some were armed.”

And after the violence began, Trump waited hours before ordering them to cease. According to the committee, this constituted a “breach of duty.”

Friday evening, the House select committee published a fresh batch of deposition transcripts of witnesses.

Among the prominent witnesses who testified were Trump’s daughter Ivanka, former Attorney General Bill Bar, and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

The testimony of the daughter of former President Donald Trump, who served as an adviser in the White House, revealed the efforts she and her father took the day of the incident to condemn the violence.

Trump asserts that the committee “produced not a single shred of evidence” linking him to the violence, and he describes the allegations as “baseless” and “a disgusting falsehood.”

Earlier on January 6, supporters of President Donald Trump participated in a rally.

Frequently, her actions were in response to requests from White House officials, and once, Senator Susan Collins called the first daughter to urge her father to do more.

Ivanka told investigators she was ‘devastated’ by a phone call she overheard in the Oval Office in which her father unsuccessfully pleaded with Vice President Mike Pence to help them overturn their election loss.

Regarding Pence’s role in the Senate’s electoral vote certification, Ivanka described a “very intense” phone conversation.

Ivanka informed the committee that there appeared to be a discussion over the Vice President’s rights and responsibilities in his position as Senate president.

She stated, “I had never heard him speak to the Vice President in this manner before.” It upset me to see them engaged in a dispute. They had consistently been on the same page.
