Times Higher Education Awards Asia 2022: Amity University Online bags ‘Student Recruitment of the Year’ award

In a ceremony held in Nagoya, Japan on May 31, Amity University Online got an award for the best Student Recruitment Campaign from the Times Higher Education Awards Asia 2022.

THE’s long-running UK-focused awards, dubbed the “Oscars of higher education,” provide the foundation for this event. The Asia awards attracted approximately 500 entries from 22 nations, with India shining brighter than ever as the only country to have two wins.

At the 2022 THE Awards Asia, Amity University Online was named Student Recruitment of the Year. In 2021, Amity University Online was recognized as one of the award winners from India for remarkable accomplishment in strategic recruiting of females in online higher education degrees.

The impediments to women’s success in the job remain formidable, and they are probably even more so in nations like India. Amity University Online pitched its courses as a “second opportunity” for women to achieve their aspirations, in response to poll results revealing that women are half as likely as males to enroll in digital education.

On International Women’s Day, Amity launched a high-profile web ad, sharing the narrative of online MBA student Sneha Sharma, a Formula 4 racer and pilot, with over 400,000 women. That was the first of many success stories published to highlight women who had returned to work after a sabbatical or who had maintained their education while working.

This was backed up with a week-long series of events on Instaclass, which provides bite-sized learning via Instagram, led by female industry professionals. Amity also offered a 20% scholarship for women looking to return to work across all of its courses, which has been used by more than 300 women.

In addition, the institution implemented a reference system that allows friends, relatives, and coworkers to refer potential students to courses, fostering a friendly environment for learning and upskilling.

“The systematic strategy consisting of recognition, prizes, and relationship components has resulted in a broad awareness of their student recruiting drive, and over 300 female working professionals have registered in their programs,” the judging panel said.

According to Ajit Chauhan, Chairman of Amity University Online, “Our success is the result of our ground-breaking work in developing a digital learning ecosystem that allows a worldwide and diverse student population to advance and achieve their professional goals.

We’ve been on a path over the past two years where we’ve been consciously encouraging women to continue studying and strive toward their career improvements. This prize serves as more proof that we are on the right track.”
