David Carter Sr., a father of three from Melvindale, Michigan, was found dismembered at his home on October 1.
Carter, a Magna Seating Plant employee and volunteer with the Melvindale Junior Football League, was reported missing in the first week of October 2018.
Carter, his family, and DJ’s mom, Samia Conner, went to his football game on September 28. Medical center worker and travel agent Tamera ‘Tammy’ Williams was also present. According to Conner, though, “David and Tammy came to the game together but weren’t together at the game.”
When did David Carter disappear?
The Netflix documentary claims that on September 30, DJ Carter went to his father’s house to retrieve some belongings after his mother, Samia Conner, received a text from Carter’s phone claiming he was sick.
DJ claims he saw Carter’s girlfriend Tammy taking out the trash when he arrived at the house.
According to DJ, “She ran to the apartment door — like ran.” And when I came to my dad’s apartment, the door was locked. Since she spotted me, she could have left the door open, but I had the key.
After Carter left for a walk, Williams reportedly told DJ that his bedroom door was locked and that Carter had closed the bathroom door.
A coworker worried about Carter’s whereabouts asked his sister Tasia Carter-Jackson to call and see if he was okay on October 2 after he failed to show up to work on September 30.
When she got to his house, she apparently discovered the front door unlocked and the bed unmade. She reported seeing a large bloodstain on both sides of the gun-holed mattress.
On October 1, Carter’s legs and lower body were found in a sleeping bag in weeds next to a highway in Eagle Township, Ohio.
On October 16, authorities found Carter’s upper body and hands inside a suitcase, nine days after they found his head in a black duffel bag with a gunshot wound beneath his ear.
Why did David Carter pass away?
David D. Carter, Sr., a jovial and honorable man, was lauded for being a wonderful father to his adolescent son, DJ, whom he shared with his ex-girlfriend, Samia Conner. Elton Carter, David’s father, and David were very close.
His day job was at the Magna Seating Plant in Highland Park, Michigan, and his side gig was running a clothing business.
The Melvindale Junior Football League has a dedicated volunteer in the 39-year-old who enjoyed spending time with his loved ones. About six months into their relationship, Tamera “Tammy” Williams and David had an argument.
In the first week of October 2018, David was absent from work three times. His sister, Tasia Carter-Jackson, was the first to rush to his house after hearing the news.
They found David’s door unfastened and his bed unmade, both of which were very out of character. There were blood stains on the bed and carpet in his room, but he wasn’t there.
On October 1, 2018, a Department of Transportation employee in Eagle Township, Ohio, discovered a sleeping bag in the weeds next to an expressway. David’s lower body, including his legs, was within the bag.
The rest of his body was found along the same path in the days that followed. The show claims that on October 10, 2018, David’s head was found inside a black duffel bag.
A bag containing his upper body and hands was found on October 16. A gunshot entered David’s skull behind his ear and exited through the top of his head.
The central question of the Unsolved Mysteries episode titled Tammy Williams Is On the Run, Body in Bags, is whether or not Carter’s girlfriend Tammy was responsible for his death.
For “mutilation, dismemberment of a dead body, tampering with evidence, and felony firearm,” Fox2 reports that Williams is on the US Department of Justice’s most wanted list in connection with Carter’s murder.
Williams reportedly has a $10,000 reward posted by the US Marshals Service for information leading to his capture. Williams’s relatives may have helped her evade capture, authorities alleged in September 2021.
US Marshals Task Force in Detroit’s Andrew Battersby, who was questioned for the video, claims that she is receiving financial and shelter assistance. She simply didn’t disappear.
He referred to her as “a dangerous woman,” adding, “the weapon that was used has not been recovered.”Because of this, he draws the conclusion that she might be “armed and dangerous.”
On October 5, 2018, following the discovery of Carter’s body, Williams, a hospital travel agent, was taken into custody. There wasn’t enough proof to keep her in custody, so she was let go.
ClickOnDetroit reports that she left the city around the middle of October, prompting a police manhunt. Fox2’s Supervisory Deputy US Marshal Aaron Garcia predicted in September of 2021, “We’ll catch you.
We’ve spent three years researching this topic, but we still need help from others. Many people are aware of where she is and how to contact her. Nobody has stepped forward.
What Happened to Tammy Williams?
According to Unsolved Mysteries, Tammy Williams’ present whereabouts are unknown.
Williams fled Michigan soon after being released from custody, and she apparently left behind very little evidence.
Williams was reportedly spotted in Ann Arbor, Michigan on October 16, 2018, according to Andrew Battersby of the US Marshals Task Force. It was common knowledge that she frequented restaurants and the ATM.
She then apparently boarded trains at Union Station en route to Chicago and Penn Station in New York City.
There is evidence that she spent one night at the Neptune Hotel after checking in on her own. Williams was last seen on October 18 when he checked out of the motel.
Investigators believed Williams’ family helped her go away in September 2021 by sending her money, as reported by FOX 2 Detroit.
Her mother was the treasurer of the Detroit Firefighters Association and was suspected of stealing over $200,000 from the organization.
It’s possible that she has short braids or wigs. The only constant in her appearance is a huge rose tattoo that begins at the elbow and runs up to her left shoulder. According to The Radio Times, those roses will definitely stand out.
