The Paupers Fund Committee of Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola expends over fifty four million naira on indigent patients admitted in the hospital

Over 54 million naira were spent on indigent patients admitted to the hospital by the Paupers Fund Committee of Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola.

This information was provided by the committee’s chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Iya Umar, during a Tuesday courtesy call on Chief Alleni Ethan Dah, General Manager of Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation, ABC Yola.

The Vice Chairman of the Committee, Mrs. Amina Albert Zirra, was present to speak on his behalf. He stated that the funding covers more than a thousand cases and that a cap of 70,000 Naira is set for each patient.

According to him, the purpose of the committee visit is to enlist help in spreading the word about the fund’s initiatives and the need for people and organisations to donate money on a humanitarian basis to help pay for the medical expenses of more patients who are in need.

The delegation’s leader clarified that as the committee members do not deal with cash, financial transactions related to the discovery are handled by the bank and hospital management.

In response, Chief Alleni Ethan Dah, General Manager of Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation, ABC Yola, expressed gratitude to the fund for helping poor patients and promised to continue to support and collaborate with it so that it could achieve its stated goals.

He said that as a free public radio station, ABC Yola platforms had promised to broadcast the fund’s activities.

Chief Dah stated that voluntary contributions to the fund should be made by everyone in order to save lives.
