The most dangerous police stations in South Africa following release of latest crime stats by SAPS

The Western Cape, Gauteng, and KZN each have 26 of the top 30 most dangerous police stations. Following a 54 percent increase in recorded offenses, Cape Town Central tops the rankings. The top three are Honeydew in Gauteng and Durban Central in KwaZulu-Natal.

This prompted Police Chief Bheki Cele to pledged the sum of R100 million to ‘the most dangerous police stations in the country’.

Failure to get their area out of the top 30 will result in dismissal, according to the Police Minister. The money will be distributed evenly across the stations. Furthermore, each local station commander has a high-risk incentive.

Bheki Cele said

“There are 30 top most dangerous police stations in the country. They will receive R100 million between them. The station commanders will have to give some time to get out of this top 30. If they can’t, station commanders will have to get out. We are trying to work on resources.
