The Lagos State Government got the keys to Temu Community Junior High School in Epe. Raji (MHR)

The Lagos State Government has received the keys to the recently completed Temu Community Junior High School in Epe, a project made possible by Honourable Wale Raji (MHR), who represents Epe Federal Constituency.

When accepting the school on behalf of the state government, Mrs. Folashade Adefisayo praised Hon. Raji for the admirable gesture and encouraged other kind people to support the state’s educational system in order to provide the children a better future.

She said that these initiatives are consistent with Governor Babajide Sanwo-T.H.E.M.E.S Olu’s agenda and added that additional investments in the education sector are still necessary because the State Government cannot carry out these initiatives on its own without the help of charitable people and organizations.

The Governor is quite pleased with this initiative and all other school-related projects here, to use her exact words. Seeing how Epe is growing makes me feel overwhelmed every time I come. I want to reassure you that we will still support this school as well as any other educational initiatives in Epe. We have a fantastic principal here who is up for the job and I have no doubt that he will establish our school as a leader among Epe’s schools.

Adefisayo, who praised the facilitator, called Hon. Raji an outstanding politician who is passionate about, committed to, and determined to invest in education. Adefisayo also disclosed that Hon. Raji has successfully delivered 13 educational projects to various schools in his Federal Constituency to close the infrastructural gap.

The community was praised by the commissioner for giving the project free use of the large piece of land.

The Temu School project, according to Dr. Olufunke Oyetola, Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Education District III, is a response to the requests and prayers of inhabitants of the Temu Community for the opening of Public Secondary Schools in their neighborhood.

She claims that since the Sanwo-Olu government began, commendable progress has been made in the field of education, leading to the building, renovation, and general rehabilitation of schools throughout the State.

The event, which also marked the official start of academic activities at Temu Community High School, was noted as historic by Honourable Wale Raji (MHR) in his remarks. This is especially true given that Temu Community High School is the first public secondary school in the town, which is the fastest-growing community in Epe Federal Constituency with a population of nearly 500,000 people.

The young children are exposed to the needless danger of traffic accidents since in the past, junior secondary school students from the town traveled daily to other towns for academic purposes.

However, the Member of the Federal House of Representatives emphasized the necessity of the Lagos State Government installing pedestrian bridges and traffic lights in various Epe locations, particularly Temu, T-junction, Itaopo, and other densely populated areas, as well as the necessity of dualizing all major roads in Epe given the high vehicular traffic.

The MHR congratulated the residents of Temu and promised them his ongoing support, adding that more classrooms will be constructed for the new school. Later, he gave the pupils free exercise books and school clothes.
