The internet is divided over a woman’s perspective on how to approach a first date, with fierce debate occurring online.

The dispute began on TikTok when a lady stated she opted to go on a second date since she had not heard from the person she was meant to see on the first date.

The lady, who goes by the online handle @Viv.aboufaissal, claimed, “We were meant to go bowling three days ago, but we haven’t spoken and he hasn’t confirmed.

“We said 7pm, but it’s now 2pm, so it’s not occurring in my mind.”

She revealed that she had the nicest time when she went out for a drink with another individual she had met through a dating application.

She then inquired what other individuals would have done in her situation.

In support of the original video, which answered Viv’s inquiry, another lady created a video on the subject.

The lady identified online as @bewellwithadiel echoed this sentiment, stating that if there is no confirmation the morning of the date, it will not take place.

“If someone plans a date, makes a reservation, and offers to pick me up, but does not text me the morning of the date to confirm, I assume the date is cancelled,” she added.

“I’m not contacting him to confirm, nor am I informing him that I’m canceling.

Even if he affirmed 24 hours ago, it’s a fresh day, and if he doesn’t contact out to confirm, he wasn’t that interested in the first place.

Many agreed with the ladies on how individuals should confirm first dates.

One remarked, “I concur, if it’s not verified, it’s canceled.” Also, I will not reschedule. I will let him know if he asks that I cannot attend.”

“A simple hello, good morning, is our date for tonight still on?” Is what the person who requested the date anticipates,” another individual commented.

Another said, “I too do this with my buddies. I will not spend hours preparing for someone to cancel.”

However, not everyone agreed with the woman’s viewpoint on dating.

“Agreed upon is verified. “If you need reassurance, be sure to ask for it,” stated one individual.

Another individual added: “As a person with ASD/ADHD. Once plans are communicated to me, I confirm them. I do not understand.”

One commentator stated, “Communication is a two-way street; there is nothing wrong with a woman speaking to confirm; it establishes expectations.”

One man asserted that the woman had extremely high standards, and he wished her luck in finding a partner who would meet them.
