The Federal Government approves the sum of #22.45Billion for projects in the Ministries of Petroleum Resources and Environment

The Federal Government approved a total of $22.45 billion for projects in the Ministries of Petroleum Resources and Environment on Wednesday.

The Minister of Environment, Mallam Muhammad Abdullahi, and the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Mr Timipre Sylva, made the announcement to journalists shortly after this week’s Federal Executive Council meeting, which was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Villa’s Council Chamber in Abuja.

In Yenogoa, the Bayelsa state capital, near to the Nigeria content towers, the President includes a Centre of Excellence for environmental restoration with an integrated polluted soil management centre and a Conference hosting facility.

The contract’s proposed completion date is in 24 months.

The council granted the contract for the design of a Center of Excellence for environment restoration with an integrated centre for contaminated soil management, according to Mallam Muhammed Abdullahi, the environment minister.

He claims that the building of the centre will enable laboratory testing for land restoration work on locations damaged by decades of oil exploration in order to make them cultivable for farming and fishing activities, fulfilling President Buhari’s pledge to the Ogoni people.
