On Saturday in Miami, the entire Virginia Cavaliers football team will attend D’Sean Perry’s memorial ceremony. This is the first of three memorials for their deceased teammates. According to ESPN, the entire team will attend each funeral.

Virginia will attend the memorial service for Devin Chandler in Virginia Beach, Virginia on Sunday, and the memorial service for Lavel Davis Jr. in North Charleston, South Carolina on Wednesday. Perry, Chandler, and Davis were shot and killed on a charter bus returning from a class trip on November 13.

The University has been in grief and held a memorial service at John Paul Jones Arena on Saturday for the three deceased players. There were over 9,000 attendees, including family, friends, and the entire team.

Christopher Darnell Jones Jr. has been charged with three counts of second-degree murder and criminal use of a firearm. On December 8, a case status hearing is scheduled. In connection with the shooting, Jones Jr. has also been charged with two counts of malicious wounding and additional gun-related charges.

On Saturday, Virginia was scheduled to play its final game of the season at Virginia Tech. However, the game was canceled due to the Cavaliers’ desire to attend the funerals of their teammates.
