Teenagers were left struggling for life following a violent accident in Brisbane

Two teens who suffered life-threatening head, limb, and abdomen injuries after crashing a vehicle believed to have been stolen west of Brisbane have been identified.

Tuesday around 6 a.m., a Mazda CX9 collided with a pole near Brightview, roughly an hour’s drive west of the city, and caught fire upon contact.

Cassie Battisson, 17, Tyson Brehm, 15, and another unidentified youngster, believed to be Cassie’s 15-year-old brother, were in the car at the time of the collision.

Together with her brother, Cassie was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where she is presently in stable but serious condition.

Tyson was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, where his condition was likewise serious.

Tuesday morning at 6 a.m., the automobile crashed into a post near Brightview, roughly an hour west of the city, and exploded into flames upon contact.

Queensland Police claim that a Mazda CX9 was taken overnight from a Clayfield residence.

Bree Berg, a close family friend of Cassie, told the Courier Mail that she was upset.

Ms. Berg said, “No way, Cassie, my sweetheart!” ‘My heart is broken.

“Tyson and Cass (you) are courageous; I hope (you) overcome this… ” I adore both of you with all my heart.

Please, I can’t believe it; I don’t know what I’d do without you in my life.

Tuesday morning, near the intersection of Brightview Road and Brightview District Road, a single-vehicle collision happened as a car attempted to pass a truck.

The adolescent was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital in critical but stable condition.

The vehicle’s passengers were rescued by farmers, and by the time Ms. Martin arrived, they were resting on the side of the road “disoriented.”

Ms. Martin stated, “The kid was asking for her brother, so I laid her head in my lap and said, ‘your brother is OK, send him on its way.’”

“I’m not sure if it was her brother, but one of the lads was screaming for assistance with both legs broken.”

The Forensic Crash Unit is conducting an investigation.
