Tammi Forsythe, 33, courageously waives her right to anonymity to say that she was raped while on holiday in Crete

A British woman whose own father is suspected of raping her father while on holiday in Crete has heroically abandoned her right to anonymity to establish that he is ‘100 percent innocent’.

Tammi Forsythe says the real rapist is still out there while her father languishes in a Greek prison convicted of the brutal sex attack on her.

Reliving her frightening tale of how she was pulled from an alleyway and into a bush in the early hours of the morning, Tammi, 33, a mother-of-four, says she wants to be named so that Greek police catch the genuine rapist – and discloses her fears that she may be pregnant by her attacker.

Speaking exclusively, Tammi fumed: ‘It’s not an easy thing for me to come out publicly as a rape victim but the world needs to know how me, and my father are suffering.

‘He is 100 percent innocent, he did not rape me. The Greek police have handled us appallingly.

As far as they are concerned, the victim was just a drunken British tourist who was raped. We wouldn’t have been treated this way if we were citizens of Greece.

She continued, “The police decided my father was guilty from the beginning and haven’t done anything to find the real rapist.

It is now necessary for me to speak out in order to obtain justice.

On June 11, Mr. Forsythe was detained, two days after Tammi reported that she had been sexually assaulted while out with him on the town’s main drag, which is lined with rowdy bars and nightclubs that are popular with British tourists.

He is currently being detained in a jail in the Greek mainland city of Tripoli while DNA tests are being completed.

Greek prosecutors informed Mr. Forsythe that depending on the outcome of the investigation, he would either face trial within 18 months or might be freed. Mr. Forsythe has denied committing the rape.

He has only ever faced a formal charge of the crime under Greek law.

Tammi revealed that she is still in Crete and has been calling her father every day while she is there. Tammi resides in Hull with her father.

She sobbed, “I only get to speak to him for a short while.” He’s psychologically devastated and has no idea why this happened because he hasn’t done anything wrong.

“Diabetes and several other serious medical conditions plague my father.” After going five days without eating properly, he is on the verge of breaking down. I’m really concerned that he could end up dying from all of this.

After the attack, Tammi disclosed that she worries she might be pregnant. She is the separated mother of three sons, who are 12 years old, 10 years old, and 5 years old, as well as a 15-year-old daughter.

“This holiday has turned into a horror movie,” Tammi remarked. Due to feeling a little under the weather and skipping my period, my stress and anxiety have only gotten worse. It’s not like me because I’m usually very consistent.

“I’m 60% certain that I’m expecting.” I need to go to a medical facility for a blood test, according to the British Consulate, but I need a companion because my panic attacks have been so severe lately. But I’m here alone, and no one can assist me.

After the Covid travel restrictions were lifted, Tammi traveled abroad for the first time with her father to celebrate his birthday. They were scheduled to arrive back in the UK on June 19.

We were promised that this would be a priority, but it hasn’t turned out to be the case, Tammi said in reference to the DNA test. Regarding the timing of the results, I haven’t received any information. Simply put, it seems like the Greek authorities don’t care.

My father can rot in prison as far as they are concerned because they have their man.

Greek authorities maintain that they detained Mr. Forsythe as a result of CCTV footage from the Help bar demonstrating that he engaged in “inappropriate sexual activity” with Tammi in the hours preceding the assault.

The CCTV footage was obtained by MailOnline, and Tammi claims that her father did nothing wrong, retorting, “I was so inebriated that I could hardly move.” He was merely attempting to wake me up so that he could return to the hotel and put me to bed.

I became so inebriated and enraged that I yelled at him. I believe I bit his hand at one point.

The only thing captured on CCTV is a father attempting to assist his extremely inebriated daughter. We weren’t engaging in any sexual activity. It’s an offensive and ridiculous statement.

Tammi described how she and her father arrived at the Help Bar on Malia’s main strip at around 1.30 am on Thursday, June 9, and left at roughly 4.55 am. He drank pints throughout the majority of the evening while she sipped Sambuca shots.

Tammi acknowledged, “I was so inebriated, I could hardly stand up.” I somehow made it out of the bar, but the argument went on. I was upset because all I wanted was to be left alone so I could keep sleeping.

We went outside and sat down against a concrete wall. When my father tried to embrace me, I pushed him away and told him to f*** off. I wasn’t sure of my actions or my words because I was so inebriated. All I wanted was for him to leave me alone.

Tammi revealed that after her father left to go back to their hotel, she hobbled along a road and fell into a dead-end alley because she was too inebriated to get up.

I noticed a man standing over me around 7.15 in the morning, she continued.

He took hold of my legs, dragged me behind a bush, and sexually assaulted me. I was completely taken aback by the experience, and I was so terrified that I was unable to move for about 15 minutes after it occurred.

She acknowledged to Greek police that she was too drunk to give them a detailed description of her assailant and that she could only recall that he was shorter than her and was wearing a white t-shirt.

Following the assault, Tammi disclosed that she left the scene and went back to her hotel around 8am.

She then slept for a while before remembering the rape and calling the British Consulate in Crete, who advised her to report it to the police right away.

The police took her there to retrace her steps after she described the night’s events and the location of the bar where she and her father had been drinking.

I told them I was very inebriated, but when they saw the CCTV footage, they completely misunderstood me.

Everything I said, they totally misunderstood. When I informed them that my father was dressed entirely in white, they interpreted this to mean that the assailant was as well.

I was treated more like a perpetrator than a victim, and now that I’ve been through this terrible crime, I’m going through even worse things because of what they’re doing to my father.

She expressed gratitude to the British Consulate for their assistance, saying, “I don’t think I could have made it through this without their help.” Every step of the way, they have been excellent in dealing with me. I’m grateful beyond words.

Tammi, a former nail technician who is currently unemployed, stated that she is adamant about staying in Greece until her father is released. She called him the “best dad in the world” and said she was one of four sisters.

My dad is very close to all of us, and he is very protective of his girls,’ she sobbed.

This was supposed to be a wonderful father and daughter vacation, but it’s turned out to be hell for us.”

While she has been in Crete waiting for the case to be resolved, Tammi estimates that she has already spent close to £4,000.

Fortunately, she continued, “My father has some savings, which I’ve been using.” I’ll stay in Greece as long as it takes and won’t return to Hull without him.
