A industrial worker miraculously survived after falling into a vat of molten aluminum and pulling himself to safety.
The 25-year-old electrician was working at a factory in St. Gallen, northern Switzerland, when he fell into a furnace containing 720°C (1,328°F) aluminium.
The young man was up to his knees in molten metal, yet he managed to endure the pain and remove himself from the furnace.

The disaster occurred in St. Gallen, Switzerland’s northern region. The city’s police stated they were investigating the incident.
Wednesday evening, he and a colleague had been working on the aluminum-containing furnace.
The man fell into the circular aperture atop the furnace.
Two Swiss emergency air rescue physicians and paramedics attended to him at the site.
He was then transported by helicopter to the hospital with severe burns.
The St. Gallen Police Department is examining how the accident occurred.
