Sultan Al Qasimi inspects conference center building at AASTMT

SHARJAH, 17th August, 2022 (WAM) — H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, inspected today the conference centre building and the marine simulators complex building at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) in Emirate of Sharjah.

During the inspection, the Ruler of Sharjah was briefed on the plans for the facilities and contents of the building, which includes a theatre, clinic and a multi-use hall, in addition to providing locations for shops, library, and various services.

Dr. Sheikh Sultan was briefed on the theater in the conference centre, which includes 900 chairs, distributed in a gradual manner to provide smooth movement, in addition to the diversity of modern means and technologies used in it.

He visited a number of advanced scientific laboratories in Academy for the purposes of teaching and training students in different classrooms, as well as for the purposes of training specialists working in the fields of maritime transport.

Sheikh Sultan was briefed on the ship’s command centre’s mini-labs, which include a ship simulation experience as a training model that enables students to fully familiarise themselves with the contents of the cockpit and the roles of the ship’s captain.

Each laboratory includes five integrated real models of the ship’s cockpit with all its contents, navigational controls and directions, in addition to voice control and large screens to show the ship’s itinerary and how to deal with different weather conditions during the ship’s voyage.

Sheikh Sultan also stopped at the multi-use training lab, where he was introduced to the computers contained in the laboratory for scientific training purposes, which include the maritime disciplines offered by the academy for students and the various scientific and technological tracks.

Sharjah Ruler was accompanied during his tour by a number of officials.
