Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon today criticised Liz Truss for ‘ranting about a fictitious anti-growth coalition’ in her Tory conference speech.
The head of the SNP asserted that the Prime Minister’s attack on the “enemy of entrepreneurship” in her speech was a “effort to disguise” the impact of Brexit as an economic development “brake.”
During her 40-minute speech to Conservative members in Birmingham, Ms. Truss criticized Labour, the Liberal Democrats, the SNP, trade unions, think institutes, and environmentalists.
The Prime Minister vowed not to allow “the anti-growth coalition to hold us back” as she pursues her plan to stimulate the UK’s sluggish economy.
Ms. Truss also identified Greenpeace activists, who at one point interrupted her address by unfurling a protest flag, as a hindrance to economic expansion.
During her 40-minute speech to Conservative members in Birmingham, LiZ Truss criticized Labour, the Liberal Democrats, the SNP, trade unions, think tanks, and environmentalists.
The Prime Minister also labeled Greenpeace activists, who at one time stopped her address by unfurling a protest flag, as a hindrance to economic growth.
Ms. Truss, shown with her husband Hugh O’Leary, vowed not to let “the anti-growth coalition to hold us back” as she pursues her plan to stimulate the stagnant economy of the United Kingdom.
Nicola Sturgeon asserted that the Prime Minister’s attack on ‘enemies of entrepreneurship’ in her speech was an attempt to hide the consequences of Brexit.
After two activists were removed from the conference hall, the prime minister stated, “Now, later in my speech, my friends, I will discuss the anti-growth coalition.
However, I believe they arrived in the hall a bit too early, as they were scheduled to arrive later. We will address them in a few moments.
Returning to her subject later in her speech, the prime minister vowed to “challenge those who seek to halt growth.”
She warned Tory members, “Labour, the Lib Dems, and the SNP, the militant unions, the vested interests dressed up as think tanks, the talking heads, the Brexit deniers and Extinction Rebellion, and some of the people we had in the room before”
In actuality, they prefer protesting to performing. They would rather converse on Twitter than make difficult decisions.
They take a taxi from their mansions in north London to the BBC studio to discard anyone who challenges the established quo.
From radio to podcast, they promote the same same answers. Always there are more taxes, more regulations, and more interference.
‘Wrong, wrong, wrong.’
In her conference speech, the SNP leader criticized Ms. Truss for “ranting about a fake anti-growth coalition.”
The prime minister asserted that a “anti-growth coalition” was “at work across the nation.”
She lambasted the Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer for advocating an extension of the windfall tax on the earnings of oil and gas corporations.
Ms. Truss also criticized Mark Drakeford, the first minister of Wales, for “cancelling road-building projects” and “refusing to create the M4 relief road.”
Turning her attention to Ms. Sturgeon, the Prime Minister stated, “Nicola Sturgeon will not build new nuclear power plants in Scotland to alleviate Scotland’s energy issue.”
Have these individuals ever encountered a tax increase they disliked? Or a sector they do not wish to control?
They do not comprehend the British populace. They lack an understanding of aspiration. They are willing to abandon our urban areas to decline.
Ms. Truss argued that the anti-growth coalition lacks understanding since “they do not face the same issues as typical working people.”
She continued, ‘These adversaries of enterprise do not understand the frustration you experience when your route is blocked by demonstrators or the trains are not running due to a strike.’
In actuality, their hard-Left allies are typically responsible for the disruption.
The anti-growth coalition considers individuals who attach themselves to trains, roads, and buildings to be heroes.
The Prime Minister also criticized Ms. Sturgeon and the SNP when she vowed to “confront the separatists who seek to tear apart our beloved Union, our family.”
She emphasized that the United Kingdom was “at its finest, working together and strengthening our economy.”
Ms. Sturgeon accused the Prime Minister of delivering a “rant” during her conference address.
She said on Twitter, “Ranting about a fictitious “anti-growth alliance” is just an attempt to obfuscate the hard reality that the largest brake on UK growth is Brexit – and that’s on the Tories.”
