Before making their debut, a Strictly Come Dancing candidate thinks that the infamous curse of the programme could actually be a blessing.

The return of Britain’s favourite show, complete with weeks of outstanding routines, sparkling attire, and of course the yearly romance rumours, is rapidly approaching.

Multiple couples have been made and broken on the show, a phenomenon that has come to be known as the “Strictly curse.”

Nikita Kanda, a participant on this season of Strictly, has admitted she isn’t at all concerned about the dreaded curse and even thinks it might be a benefit.

The dance floor has caused over 14 relationship breakups throughout the course of the show’s 20 seasons, in addition to numerous happy love tales and even several Strictly babies.

The BBC radio DJ was asked by The Sun on Saturday if the curse would turn out to be a blessing, and she said, “Hopefully, yeah!” The star’s top priority, however, is undoubtedly dominating the dance floor.’

But that’s not in my thinking because I am so focused on enjoying the event and I want to get started and learn the dances,’ she explained.

I’m totally unmarried.

I’m only focused on my work right now, which includes my breakfast show and Strictly.

Because of her responsibilities to her breakfast programme on BBC Radio’s Asian Network, which requires her to wake up at 4:30 every morning, Nikita confessed she has been single for about seven years.

As she explained: “I am basically double-shifting, so it is going to take up a lot of my time.”

The singer isn’t stopping radio for Strictly. I won’t have time to do anything else at this moment.

I am content to remain unmarried and say so.

The Strictly premiere is scheduled on September 23, and Nikita’s personal trailer was made public on Sunday as the actress acknowledged how anxious she is to perform live on national television.

I’m sweating just thinking about it, she said in jest.

The radio broadcaster, who is a fan of Strictly, declared 2021 champion Rose Ayling-Ellis to be her all-time favourite participant, saying, “I think she was simply great! Her journey on Strictly was fantastic, too.

When asked what theme week she is most anticipating, she revealed that Grease is her favourite movie, adding, “If I could be a little bit like Sandy, leather, big hair, yeah I’d be up for that.”

The celebrity vowed to deliver “the spice and the sass.”

I’ll contribute a little bit of my culture.

I’ll undoubtedly add that Asian flair to Strictly this year.

Former Strictly participant HRVY asserted earlier this week that the claimed “curse” of the programme is “real” in a statement.

In an interview with Metro.co.uk on Wednesday, the musician who co-starred in the popular BBC show’s 2020 season with his professional partner Janette Manrara talked about the infamous Strictly curse.

‘I know it’s real,’ he said.

I won’t say any more than that, but as someone who has performed the act – I won’t claim that I’ve personally experienced it, but I might have witnessed…It very certainly exists.

The celebrity said that connections might develop as a result of the closeness of dancing with a partner one-on-one for weeks or as a result of being surrounded by the same group of people during the entire series.

People say it’s like banter, and I shared that opinion up until I actually did it, at which point I was like, “Wow, yeah.”
