SPORTS: Kaizer Chiefs makes first signing for next season

According to reports, Kaizer Chiefs have signed their first important signing for the 2022-23 PSL season, and it’s a former player!

Zitha Kwinika, formerly known as Zitha Macheke, is said to be returning to Naturena from Stellenbosch FC.

Both Chiefs and Stellenbosch have finalised agreements for Kwinika to return to his former club for an undisclosed amount, according to the iDiski Times.

This comes following the 28-year-impressive old’s performances for Stellenbosch over the last two seasons – but the truth is that Kwinika has been in excellent form since leaving Chiefs.

KAIZER CHIEFS RE-SIGN FORMER DEFENDER

Before being promoted to the first team in 2014, Kwinika spent several years in the Chiefs’ development program.

He spent the majority of his time with Chiefs, first with the DStv Diski Challenge, then with the MultiChoice Diski Challenge, before being farmed out to Chippa United.

After Chiefs judged him surplus to requirements, Kwinika made his move to Chippa United permanent in August 2015.

Before joining Stellenbosch at the start of the 2020-21 season, the lanky centre-back played for Thanda Royal Zulu and Bidvest Wits.

Kwinika appears to have done enough to clinch a return to Chiefs after appearing 53 times for Stellenbosch – sources claim the player was also interested in the move.
