Skegness teen drowns as tributes are paid to 21-year-old’sweetheart’

A young teenager drowned in Skegness water, just hours after a 21-year-old man drowned in a Doncaster lake, increasing the UK’s heatwave death toll to 23.

At about 6.15 p.m. on Saturday, emergency personnel responded to complaints of a ‘kid under 16’ in the water.

Police officials and the coastguard conducted a search until the boy’s corpse was sadly retrieved at approximately 11.30 p.m. yesterday night.

It comes only hours after a man’s corpse was recovered from a lake in Doncaster last evening.

At before 4.10pm, an air ambulance arrived as an urgent search was initiated after reports that a man had ‘gotten into difficulties in the water’ near Lakeside, Doncaster.

However, South Yorkshire Police subsequently confirmed that a corpse was discovered from the lake.

He has been identified locally as Jay Walker, and his bereaved friends and family have characterized him as a “sweetheart.”

At this moment, no other information has been provided regarding the adolescent.

‘We got a large amount of calls for missing persons on the coast yesterday,’ said Superintendent Lee Pache of Lincolnshire Police.

‘At one point, we had ten calls in two hours.’

‘With the exception of the youngster who tragically died, all of those reported missing have been found safe and healthy.’ Our hearts go out to the boy’s family.’

Mr Walker had been into difficulties at a lake in Doncaster little over two hours before.

Witness Lynne Lawrence reported hearing a police jet circling for half an hour and afterwards seeing a helicopter land. ‘We are extremely sad to say that after prior information of an incident at Lakeside, Doncaster, a body has now been located,’ said a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police.

‘Emergency services were called to the lake about 4.10pm after receiving reports of a man in his twenties having trouble in the water.’

‘No official identification has yet occurred. The man’s family has been notified and is being assisted by professional police.’

On social media, friends and relatives have been paying tribute to the young guy.

‘To the world, you were just someone, but to all of us, you were the world,’ Skye Marie Bowers wrote. God really chooses the finest individuals. ‘Can’t believe it’s real brother fly high gone too soon,’ Billy Jarmolinski said.

The three fatalities on Saturday follow the removal of two persons from bodies of water on Thursday, when the nation was once again plagued by scorching heat.

After a frantic search for a man who had vanished beneath the water, a corpse was recovered from the River Thames near a sailing club, as sky-high temperatures plunged the nation into drought.

At approximately 8 p.m. on Thursday night, firefighters, paramedics, and a dive team were dispatched to a section of the river near Desborough Sailing Club in Shepperton, Surrey, after reports that a man had gone underwater but failed to return.

The corpse of another guy was recovered from the sea at Aira Point, near the ferry terminal in Ullswater, the same day after a paddleboarder went missing.

At 1.10 p.m., Maryport Rescue coastguards were sent out, and they were joined by Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team, Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, Ullswater rangers, Whitehaven coastguard team, and North West Ambulance Service.
