Single mother punches out a woman’s teeth after a scuffle at a gender reveal party

A single mother of two who knocked out another woman’s teeth in a brutal attack after blaming her for spilling red wine on her at a gender reveal party was spared jail time.

On October 7, Megan Ware, 22, of Chester, seized Emma Mitchell from behind, punched her in the face, and knocked out two of her teeth after following her from a pub to a nearby taxi stand.

After the red wine incident, police were called to the location and discovered that Ware, who had left her two children with a babysitter, had earlier yanked the hair of another woman, Emma Pinnington.

At Chester Magistrates’ Court, Ware pleaded guilty to two counts of assault and also to being drunk and disorderly. He was ordered to pay Miss Mitchell £400 in compensation and Miss Pinnington £100.

Miss Mitchell, who was also intoxicated, was beaten so severely that two of her bottom teeth fell out.

Ware, who had left her two young children, ages one and three, with a babysitter, and who characterized herself as “100 percent drunk,” had earlier yanked the hair of another woman following the spill.

She stated in an interview that she was so drunk that she did not recollect whether or not she assaulted the individual who threw the beer over her.

Emma Mitchell and Emma Pinnington left the Victoria Pub around 2 a.m., but when they were walking to a taxi stand, Miss Mitchell was hauled to her knees and punched in the face by the defendant, according to prosecutor Laura Simpson.

“The punch was so powerful that it knocked out two of her bottom teeth.” A police officer witnessed the assault on Miss Mitchell and removed the suspect from the scene. It emerged that Emma Pinnington was also assaulted by the defendant.

Officers arrested the defendant, but she remained belligerent and continued to yell and scream. The defendant was later interviewed and remembered being quite intoxicated. She remembered getting into a fight after someone poured a drink over her.

Miss Simpson informed the court that Ware had no prior convictions and noted that she had used “considerable force” during the assault.

The prosecutor stated, “She hit Miss Mitchell while she was on the floor, causing her teeth to be knocked out. It was a sustained assault against two unknown individuals.” There was no update regarding Miss Mitchell’s teeth.

Chris Hunt, the defense attorney, stated in mitigation that he disagreed that it was a “persistent attack” and that it was impossible to determine if substantial force was used because it was unknown if Miss Mitchell was wearing dentures.

Mr. Hunt stated, “This young lady is 22 years old and has no prior offenses.”

She is the mother of two toddlers, ages three and one. She is not a frequent partygoer and she does not use alcohol frequently.

She had attended a gender reveal party to celebrate her friend’s pregnancy. She acknowledges that it was her only night out in years and that she drank excessively. After that, she was confused.

She remembered someone putting a beverage on her. She looked to have retaliated against the one she felt had poured beer over her. We do not know if it was Emma Mitchell or Emma Pinnngton because they did not provide this information in their interview.

Judicial officers imposed on Ware a 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew for eight weeks.

Chairwoman Jane Davies stated, “We have considered the evidence.” It must have been terrifying for the injured individuals. However, we have heard what your attorney has to say, and your previous good character has served you well.’
