Sherri Shepherd Credits Time in Jail for Her Success

Sherri Shepherd, former cohost of “The View,” credits serving time in jail for her success.

She revealed that she was locked up for eight days in the early ’90s for owing $10,000 in unpaid moving violations.

At the time, she didn’t think being in jail was a good moment, but looking back, she learned to pay all her bills.

According to Shepherd, jail was a classroom that taught her a life lesson, and now she pays her bills on time.

During her time behind bars, one of the girls told others to leave her alone because she was going to be somebody.

Her name was Shelby, and she attended both of Shepherd’s weddings after she got out.

Those words had a significant impact on Shepherd, and she knew that something was going to happen.

Last fall, the daytime TV host premiered her latest eponymous show via production company Debmar-Mercury after filling in for Wendy Williams on her show.

When Williams was unable to return to her own show due to various health issues, the hit series was axed after 13 seasons, and Shepherd’s show was launched.

However, there was some bad blood when Shepherd took over, and Williams was quoted as saying that she liked Shepherd but wouldn’t be watching her show because she knew what she was going to be doing.

Shepherd’s show has been renewed for the 2024-2025 season.

She launched her own show after filling in for Wendy Williams, and she and her executive producer, Jawn Murray, were spotted attending an event called “Collabs See Your Power,” hosted by Shelia and Germaine Leftridge, at 48 Lounge.

Despite the initial tensions between Shepherd and Williams, Shepherd holds Williams in high regard and calls her the queen, saying there is something for everybody.
