Sha Sha on women in music and her new album ‘I’m alive’

Charmaine Shamiso Mapimbiro, often known as Sha Sha and winner of a BET award, has collaborated with yet another musical powerhouse for her current single, “Give me something,” which features Rowlene.

On the brand-new track, the two formidable vocalists collaborate to offer R&B melodies, and their voices blend to create a poignant record.

Sha Sha and Rowlene’s gorgeous voices, soaring keys, and the most delicate beats give life to “Give Me Something,” a song about a girl going through a breakup and realizing she has not moved on from the past or her former boyfriend.

Sha Sha stated in an interview with IOL Entertainment that the process of creating the song took a long time, beginning in 2020.

Sha Sha co-wrote the song with producer Dakarai Gwitira in South Africa and waited till he found the ideal collaborator before releasing it.

Sha Sha reached out to Rowlene via Direct Messages, which is where many fantastic things occur. As if they were old friends, the pair engaged in an in-depth discussion on music.

At the time Rowlene was in the United Kingdom, the two practically collaborated on the song, which has now come together.

Sha Sha’s collaboration with Rowlene follows closely on the heels of her release of “Themba Lami” with Ami Faku. It wouldn’t be unreasonable to assume that Sha Sha’s upcoming album “I’m Alive” will be dominated by strong female duets.

Sha Sha stated, “I felt there weren’t enough women working together, and after working on ‘Phakade Lami’ with Nomfundo, I really want to collaborate with more women to see what we can produce.”

“As you approach the CD, you are going to be astounded by the variety of sounds included. “One thing I’ve actually loved is how welcoming and appreciative people have been of my music,” she remarked.

Sha Sha released the music video for her collaboration with Ami Faku on August 19. The video has received 158 060 views on YouTube.

People were on scene as early as 7:00 a.m. to begin filming the pictures. However, while doing something you enjoy and collaborating with a friend, things tend to be enjoyable.

“Everyone collaborated to create such a stunning collection of work. We collaborated with Low, David Tlale, and Yenzo, who were masters of filmmaking, to create the stunning visuals. It was a really hectic day. Ami and I are extremely close friends. “We are out there fooling around; the atmosphere was great,” she remarked.

Sha Sha has gained the title “Queen of Amapiano” despite the fact that she is mostly an R&B artist.

R&B is merely another way for her to express herself as an artist and demonstrate her development. Sha Sha stated, “It’s about being able to express myself in various genres.”

“I feel as though music is a means for me to express myself. “I’m exploring other settings and genres,” she remarked.

To say the least, the title of her new album, “I’m Alive,” is attention-grabbing.

As suggested by the title of her album, Sha Sha has undergone a “rebirth”; for three months, she was absent from social media. As an announcement of her comeback to social media sites, she shared the album’s cover art while wearing a purple suit and durag.

Sha Sha exclaims, “It’s intense,” before explaining how the music is divided into two parts describing her experience. With so much having transpired in her profession and in her personal life, she claims that the album served as therapy for her.

She added, “It’s more of a reflection on my journey of self-discovery, my spirituality, and my love, which are the most important things to me now.”

“With ‘I’m Alive,’ certain things had to die, whether they were low frequencies or things I latched on to after being famous.”

It is difficult to think about Sha Sha without thinking of DJ Maphorisa, as the vocalist has collaborated with the head of the Blaqboy Music record label on multiple singles, including “Love you tonight” and “Akulaleki.”

Sony Music and Blaqboy are releasing her music as part of a collaborative effort. She has departed from Lawk Communications and is currently employed with Blaq Major.

As Sha Sha begins a new chapter in her career as a musician, her fans can anticipate her to be a more confident, in charge woman who is embracing who she is.

As our session came to a close, she observed, “Sometimes it’s nice to be vulnerable; it’s wonderful to tap into that area and nourish that little girl. Consider how you can progress as a woman to become the finest version of yourself”.

The release date for “I’m Alive” is September 24, and “Give me something” is available on all streaming platforms.
