Sex scandal minister Alan Tudge resigns amid death threats to teenage children

Alan Tudge, the minister for sex scandals, has resigned as an MP, citing his desire to be a “better father” and admitting that his teenage children have received death threats.

The 51-year-old former cabinet minister will resign as the federal member for the outer-eastern Melbourne seat of Aston, triggering a by-election and paving the way for the possible return to politics of former treasurer Josh Frydenberg.

‘This was not an easy decision for me to make, but it is vital for my health and my family, among other things. I have not made this decision lightly,’ he told the legislature on Thursday.

They have been subjected to circumstances that no adolescent should have to endure, including death threats, the most recent of which occurred last week.

He continued, “My son is a bit younger, but I still want to be a good father to him.”

Serving as a member of parliament has been one of the greatest honors of my life, despite the brutal nature of the job.

In recent years, Tudge’s career has been marred by scandals, most notably his romance with his former press assistant, Rachelle Miller, who also accused him of abuse.

He has also been questioned by the royal inquiry investigating the infamous robodebt program.

Hundreds of thousands of assistance claimants were illegally issued fictitious debts by the Centrelink scam, which utilized an automated system.

During his political career under the Morrison and Turnbull governments, the liberal politician held numerous positions, including education, human services, and citizenship and multicultural affairs.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stated that the two had “political differences,” but he appreciated him for his service.

“I thank him for the sacrifices he has made to serve in this chamber, and I say on behalf of the government that I respect both his decision and the manner in which it was made.”

The vacancy could result in Josh Frydenberg’s unexpected return to politics.

Political insiders believe the former treasurer will run for the seat, despite some early reports indicating he will not run in Aston.

In the federal election held last year, independent MP Monique Ryan defeated Mr. Frydenberg for the seat of Kooyong, which had been held by the Liberal party since federation.
