Senior NATO Communicators Conference 2022

The 2022 NATO Senior Communicators Conference was held in Brussels, Belgium on November 15 and 16.

Over 250 top communications officials and specialists from non-governmental think tanks and civil society from NATO’s 30 Allies and Finland and Sweden, who were invited, met to examine the Alliance’s most pressing communications concerns.

The Public Diplomacy Division organized the third Senior Communicators Conference for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

The format seeks to give communications leaders in capitals with a clearer grasp of NATO policy priorities as well as opportunities to engage with civil society thought leaders. It strengthens a growing community of communicators from all 30 Allies, as well as Finland and Sweden, to better support and coordinate Alliance operations.

Energy security and climate change were also considered.

Mircea Geoană, the Deputy Secretary General of NATO, presented closing remarks at the conference, emphasizing the length of the NATO Alliance’s history, the scope of its activities, and the significance of properly transmitting it to future generations.
