“These selflessness and unity have encouraged so many of our people to also play their share in the noble job of nation building,” added Villar.

The senator was the Guest Speaker during the organization’s 43rd Founding Anniversary Celebration and 42nd National Assembly (Second Regular Session) (Second Regular Session).

However, Villar emphasized that this organization is island-born, or genuinely Filipino, in contrast to other comparable cause-oriented socio-civic organizations.

“Civic consciousness and participation in our community affairs, respect to law and order under the democratic processes are important in a country like the Philippines where the poverty incidence has risen to 26 million or just below 25% of the population (23.7 percent PSA) as of January 2022,” said Villar.

According to Villar, who claimed to be a member of the organization, their family established the Villar Social Institute on Poverty Alleviation and Governance, or VILLAR SIPAG, in 1995 to promote initiatives aimed at assisting our less fortunate countrymen in escaping the shackles of poverty.

“Our causes and beneficiaries have grown and varied over the years to reach more people and societal groups, including the church, the environment, women, OFWs, farmers, and fishermen.

We work hard to provide opportunities to the underprivileged so they can overcome their restrictions and lead fulfilling lives in the community “She spoke.

The 1-River Rehabilitation Programs & Social Enterprises in Las Pias City, including the following programs, is one of their primary initiatives, she explained.

The Coconut Coir and Peat Enterprise and the Water Hyacinth Weaving Enterprise Centers for Las Pias Handloom Weaving, c Solid waste management, planting bamboo culms along riverbanks to support a three-generation city parol industry or the production of Christmas lanterns, and recycling plastic waste to create usable school chairs are the other three sustainability initiatives.

She also mentioned the Villar SIPAG Youth Awards, the Villar SIPAG Awards on Poverty Reduction, and the yearly OFW and Family Summit.
