Rwanda’s “amazing demonstration of solidarity and fortitude” is praised by Prince Harry

During an unannounced trip to Rwanda, Prince Harry visited a memorial for the genocide and met the president. He complimented the nation for its “amazing display of solidarity and resilience.”

On Saturday, the 37-year-old Duke of Sussex visited the Kigali Massacre Memorial, a place that honors the victims of the 1994 horrific genocide.

It happens just a few weeks after his father Prince Charles and wife Camilla paid a visit to the cemetery where an estimated 250,000 victims’ bones are interred.

Omid Scobie, a friend of Meghan Markle, revealed what Harry wrote in a visiting book when he was there today.

“I am extremely struck by what I have seen,” he said. Our current display of solidarity and resiliency is amazing.

We are grateful that you have led us to forgiveness and healing. You are serving as a role model for people everywhere.

Following his retirement from royal duties, Harry, who is now residing in his $14 million residence in California, also took a solo vacation to Mozambique’s blue Indian Ocean coast last week.

In his capacity as president of African Parks, The Duke traveled from California to welcome a delegation of US politicians, environmentalists, and benefactors for a tour of the pristine Bazaruto Archipelago, according to a statement from his spokesman.

However, it later came to light that the father of two had also been to Rwanda while in Africa.

Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, visited Rwanda as part of his duties as President of African Parks, according to a tweet from the president’s official account.

“Akagera and Nyungwe National Parks are managed by African Parks under agreements with the Government of Rwanda.”

The organization shared several images of the king on Twitter and said that he “paid his homage to victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi.” He afterwards went on to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial.

The royal’s wife Meghan Markle, 41, and children Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, don’t seem to have traveled with him.

The prince’s unexpected trip to Africa initially made headlines when he was seen last week at the opulent Vilanculos Beach Lodge, a $270 per night hotel on the outskirts of the Bazaruto Archipelago National Park, which is run by African Parks.

As per a source, MailOnline Last Sunday, Harry took a trip to Heathrow, where he then transferred to a connecting aircraft to Johannesburg.

The biggest of the six islands in the archipelago, Bazaruto, was a favorite destination for Harry and his ex-girlfriend Chelsy. There, they took advantage of the island’s deserted white sand beaches and snorkeled in coral reefs home to a vast array of marine life.

One of the few remaining populations of dugongs, often known as sea cows, the enormous undersea grazers on the point of extinction, has been safeguarded by Bazaruto’s seclusion and protection.

Prior to 2010, the blonde beauty dated Prince Harry for seven years. For the last twelve years, she has mostly stayed out of the public eye.

Before Harry left by boat from the nearby port to check on the operations of African Parks, which manages the Bazaruto Archipelago, the prince had breakfast with Yassin Amuji, the chairman of Vilanculos tourist organization.

“He was straightforward, modest, and quite nice, even when hotel visitors approached him to snap photographs.”

“Since he was in his twenties, I have seen Prince Harry visiting this region and taking vacations in Bazaruto. The next time, I’m sure he’ll return and maybe even bring his family,’ Mr. Amuji told MailOnline.

I told him about the challenges the tourism sector has had as a result of COVID, and he expressed sympathy and well wishes for us.

‘He traveled by boat from Vilanculos since it is fairly near by boat and you can view a lot of the wildlife that way. He visited the archipelago to observe the work being done by African Parks.’

Harry is also close with Graca Machel, the widow of South Africa’s first post-apartheid president and the former First Lady of Mozambique.

Harry recently spoke at the UN on Nelson Mandela Day and emphasized his strong ties to the continent.

Since my first trip to Africa when I was 13 years old, the continent has always given me hope. In fact, it has been my lifeblood for the most of my life. It’s where I felt the closest to my mother and went for comfort when she passed away, and it’s where I realized my wife was my soul match.

Before deciding to go to Canada and later California, Harry and Meghan gave relocating to Cape Town some thought. The Duke has many close acquaintances in the neighboring country of Botswana.

Harry, 40, and Meghan had been to Africa together a number of occasions, including an early trip to Botswana in the summer of 2016.

“I was able to convince her to go to Botswana and join me. Together, we set up camp beneath the stars.

After their engagement, Harry said, “It was absolutely lovely that she came and joined me for five days out there.” So, after that, we were really alone, which I felt was important to give us an opportunity to get to know one another.

The couple’s 2019 trip to Africa with their son Archie was their last one as members of the royal family.

About 20 national parks are managed by African Parks, a company established in South Africa, on behalf of the governments of about a dozen nations, including Malawi, Zambia, Rwanda, and Chad.

One of the few private patronages Harry preserved after Megxit in 2020 is the conservation charity. After serving as a volunteer in Malawi for the most complex undertaking of its kind—the relocation of 500 elephants—he became its face.

The Sussexes will visit Britain for the first time since the Platinum Jubilee next month to attend numerous charitable events, including the One Young World Summit in Manchester on September 5. His unexpected visit follows the news that the Sussexes will travel to Britain next month.

The Duke seemed at ease in photos from his visit to the nation that were posted online, dressing in a grey polo shirt, a baseball cap, and navy shorts.

The monarch may be seen posing with another guy in one of the photos published on Twitter by author Eric Morier-Genoud.

The Duke has been to Mozambique previously; on a covert trip there in 2010, he joined the Halo Trust, a British charity.

The foundation brought then-25-year-old Harry to view their work at a community adjacent to the Cahora Bassa dam in Tete, central Mozambique. They had just cleaned an astounding 105,000 landmines from the region.

His most recent trip coincides with reports from royal experts that Harry and Meghan may use their next trip to the UK as an opportunity to see the Queen, even though their arrival falls during a busy week during which the queen will also meet the incoming Prime Minister.

Before returning to the UK for the WellChild Awards on September 8, they will go to Germany for the Invictus Games Dusseldorf 2023 One Year to Go event.

It is unknown whether their one-year-old Lilibet or their three-year-old son Archie would accompany them.

After spending “just 15 minutes” with the Queen at the Platinum Jubilee festivities this summer, the pair is sure to want to spend more time with her, according to royal observers.

Currently residing in Balmoral, the Queen will visit London on September 6 to see either Liz Truss or Rishi Sunak when they are appointed prime minister.

She asked Harry and Meghan to visit her at her Highland hideaway earlier this month, according to The Sun.

This Thursday, Richard Fitzwilliams, a royal authority, said that London or Windsor were the most probable locations for a meeting with the king.

‘The claims that the Queen had invited Harry and Meghan to Balmoral were never verified,’ he told MailOnline. They could only spend a very little amount of time with her during the Platinum Jubilee, therefore it would only make sense for them to visit her while she is at Windsor and they are located at Frogmore.

She may welcome the incoming Prime Minister at Windsor or at Buckingham Palace if she does arrive as expected. She and the Sussexes would also have time to talk about the future, which hopefully would be more positive than the recent past.

The image they wish to project as benefactors would undoubtedly benefit from some kind of reconciliation during the Platinum Jubilee year, they must be aware of this.

Phil Dampier, though, indicated that Balmoral would be a more plausible location.

She will probably determine if he meets the Queen. He told MailOnline, “I’m sure they would drop in for a chat if she says she wants to see them.

She undoubtedly hoped that the laid-back attitude would make it easier for them to discuss issues and work to find solutions.

Although Meghan won’t like the Highlands’ hunting, shooting, and fishing environments, the Queen would feel much more at ease seeing them there than than in a hurried setting in London.

Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are thrilled to meet with numerous organizations near and dear to their hearts in early September, according to a representative for the couple.

The news comes shortly after it was revealed that Harry had brought a second legal action against Scotland Yard and the government over their refusal to let him pay for police protection while on a visit from California.

The Duke of Sussex has already filed a lawsuit against the Home Office over its decision to end his taxpayer-funded protection in 2020. According to him, this makes it unsafe for him to visit Britain with his wife, Meghan Markle, and two children, Archie and Lilibet, who are also his legal dependents.
