Russia’s Parliament to issue special statement on Ukraine on August 25

On August 25, the Russian Federation’s State Duma (Parliament) will meet for an Extraordinary Council. According to Just Russia — For Truth Party head Sergei Mironov, the Duma will release a special statement on the situation in Ukraine at the meeting.

“The leaders of the factions will meet again together with the chairman, and approximately, at about 15:00, we will convene the Council of the Duma, at which our tough statement will be adopted,” the politician told reporters after a meeting with State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.

The State Duma Council will send a message to the UN and other international legislative bodies, claims Mironov.

Gennady Zyuganov, the head of the Communist Party, had earlier said that the issue surrounding the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and the situation in Ukraine called for the State Duma to hold an emergency session.

Russia began its special campaign to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine on February 24. The liberation of the Donbass and the establishment of circumstances that would ensure Russia’s security are the operation’s ultimate goals, according to President Putin.

The Donetsk People’s Republic, which includes Volnovakha, Mariupol, and Svyatogorsk, as well as the whole Luhansk People’s Republic have been fully freed by the Russian army and the troops of the DPR and LPR.
