Russia’s Kalashnikov AK-203 assault rifles to be produced in India

According to TASS, Russia’s defense export powerhouse Rosoboronexport, the Russian-Indian joint venture – Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited plans to totally localize the production of AK-203 assault rifles in India.

“The production plans of the joint venture include plans for the 100-percent localisation of the production of AK-203 assault rifles in India,” the business said. “In addition, the joint venture may increase production and upgrade to produce prospective models on the Kalashnikov assault rifle platform,” Rosoboronexport stated.

In October, the business stated that the Russian-Indian plant in the Indian city of Corva for the production of AK-203 Kalashnikov assault rifles (7.62 by 39 mm caliber) would be ready to commence production by the end of 2022.
