Russian social network top manager dies in an attempt to cross a river in Far North

In a sad tragedy, Vladimir Gabrielyan, the First Deputy General Director of Russia’s largest social media firm VKontakte (commonly known as VK), was slain.

With him perished Sergei Merzlyakov, the company’s buying manager.

Gabrielyan and another person went missing near the village of Shoyna in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, according to the Union of Reindeer Breeders of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug (NAO).

Gabrielyan and three of his pals were trekking around the White Sea in all-terrain vehicles, according to the Union of Reindeer Breeders. The trucks overturned in the Bugryanitsa River and were washed away into the sea. Gabrielyan and Merzlyakov disappeared. Alena Gabrielyan and Sergey Olsevich, who were traveling with them, were able to make it onshore.

It was previously reported that Gabrielyan attempted to cross a river in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug on two all-terrain vehicles with his wife Elena and pals. The cars toppled at one point during the journey, and the current took them away into the sea. Sergey Olsevich and the wife of the top manager were able to get out of the automobiles alive. Gabrielyan and Merzlyakov’s vehicle was swept away into the sea.

The incident occurred in a difficult-to-reach locale, complicating the search. Elena Gabrielyan and Sergei Olsevich were rescued by two local neighbors who went to the White Sea by boat.
