The host of the show is responsible for guiding the cast toward resolution of issues and ensuring that everyone is heard when speaking.
However, the manner in which Vusi Twala (also known as Vusi Zion), the host of “The Real Housewives of Cape Town” reunion, handled the situation left many disturbed.

His American accent in the first segment of the reunion caused viewers to side-eye him, but his failure to allow all viewpoints to be heard and his favoritism have people requesting that he not host the reunion again.

At one point, Rooksie reminded Twala of his role on the program and advised him to listen to both sides of the tale.
In the second round of the reunion, Twala appeared to only let certain individuals to finish their sentences, pushed several topics that required serious attention under the rug, and focused on Thato maintaining order.

When Mrs. Leo’s comments concerning Thato’s violent relationship were brought up, Twala made sure she got her point out, but forgot to call her out on how tone-deaf her remarks were.
Instead of recognizing that her feelings may have been expressed more effectively, she gave a statement in which she stated that as the mother of three daughters, she would never condone abuse due to her own history of abuse.

As a host, you must be impartial. Thato required calming down, especially considering the number of expletives she was using.
Twala appeared to be more focused on wanting Thato to conclude the conversation, but failed to address the cause of her anger. Thato was enraged during the reunion because she thought that Camilla, Mrs. Leo, and Beverley had wronged her.
Camilla once again attacked Thato’s credentials by questioning whether she was a certified winemaker; in response, Thato labeled her a “racist.”

After the reconnection, Beverley and Thato’s friendship would likely be irreparably damaged due to the bombs Thato dropped.
The reunion left viewers with more questions than resolutions, especially after Rooksie and Lue’s dispute was tabled.

Rooksie silenced the ladies when she addressed the negative feelings between her and Lue, allegedly stemming from an event in July. Lue did not wish to discuss the case, which is currently being handled by “national intelligence,” but she did not attempt to stop her.
