Report says that Subhan Zaib brutally raped ex-girlfriend in Baltimore

Despite being detained and freed five times in New York City during his 11-day crime rampage, a Queens man, 26, who reportedly stabbed a 19-year-old woman in the Lower East Side and assaulted another in a Brooklyn hotel before rapping a lady in Baltimore, was eventually jailed without bail in Maryland.

Subhan Zaib, 26, is accused of starting his rampage of crimes against women on May 30 when he threatened his ex-girlfriend in Queens and ending on June 14 with a violent rape in Baltimore.

On June 10, he was accused of knifing a 19-year-old woman inside the Lower East Side’s Delancey Street/Essex Street station.

Zaib began his reign of terror on May 30 between 3am and 4am, according to his ex-girlfriend, who requested anonymity in the New York Daily News (NYDN). He allegedly contacted her and only reached her father, threatening to harm her and her family if she did not return the $500 he said he owed her.

According to the complaint, he warned the father, “I’m coming over to get the money, and if you don’t give it to me, I’m going to kill her and your family.”

He was ‘always so violent when I was with him,’ she revealed after the pair split up seven years ago.

She told the NYDN that she was stunned that he ‘could harm a random person,’ but not surprised that the cutting occurred.

‘When I was affiliated with him, he made death threats and stalked anyone he thought had wronged him,’ she told the New York Daily News.

Following the threats, he was arrested and released on ‘non-monetary terms,’ according to the Queen’s District Attorney’s Office.

He allegedly terrorized Johann Poveda, a Richmond Hill neighbor, by cutting the cords to his CCTV cameras and pulling off his Ring doorbell two days later.

Poveda stated he and his wife ‘called the cops on him many times’ because they lived on the same floor as Zaib’s family.

Zaib caused Poveda continual concern, according to the NYDN, and the man’s father told him he was’mentally unwell but would not take his prescription.’

Poveda told the New York Daily News that his father was terrified of his kid. ‘We lived next door to them for approximately five years, and it wasn’t a good experience.’ He was a nightmare to deal with. He threatened us on several occasions.’

Zaib allegedly pulled a knife on a man on 108th Street and Atlantic Avenue just minutes later. After reporting the incident to authorities, the individual was arrested for criminal mischief. threatening, criminal weapon possession, trespassing, and harassment

He was released without bail once more.

By June 4, his offenses had increased in severity, grown more aggressive, and had spread to another borough.

Prosecutors said he punched, choked, and struck a lady with a belt inside a room at the 369 Hotel on Glenmore Avenue in Brooklyn, and threatened her with a knife.

Despite the fact that second-degree assault qualifies for bail, Zaib was released without it once more, according to the NYDN.

According to the NYDN, Brooklyn prosecutors forewent bail since the victim allegedly offered a phony phone number and officers were unable to contact her.

Zaib would hide inside the women’s bathroom at the Rock Church in Maspeth, Queens, at 9.30 p.m. three days later. ‘You can’t be in here,’ an unidentified woman allegedly informed him when she caught him in the bathroom.

According to the NYDN, he then turned out the lights and trapped her against the wall. ‘He tried to rape me,’ she told another churchgoer when she was able to break free and seek aid.

Police released his photo to the public (pictured) after he slashed a woman in a subway station in the Lower East Side. His father told their neighbor he was 'scared' of his sun and that his son was 'mentally ill'

The man then proceeded to pursue Zaib. ‘I can f**king murder you,’ the offender said, threatening the man. ‘I have the ability to f**king shoot you,’ the lawsuit stated.

He was detained and charged with second-degree assault, but he was released on bond once again.

He assaulted the 19-year-old on June 10, and he was sent to Lenox Hill Hospital in stable condition.

He allegedly put her in a chokehold and slashed her neck and back numerous times around 5 a.m. Her injuries did not put her life in jeopardy.

He’d arrive in Charm City four days later, where he’d meet his next victim outside a Walgreens. According to the criminal complaint, he asked the woman for a lighter before ordering her into a wooded area near the business at knifepoint.

According to WMAR 2 News, the woman told police she was walking to the bus stop after buying at Family Dollar when Zaib approached her.

He then held a knife to her back and forced her to undress for him behind a building before taking her to the wooded area, where he raped her, cut a bit of her hair off, and forced her to call him “pimp.”

Zaib is said to have then taken her money and fled the scene. He was apprehended the next day after entering a shop near the scene of the assault and claiming to have recently relocated to Baltimore.

According to WMAR 2 News, the store owner told authorities that Zaib bought the knife the day of the rape.

When Zaib acquired the knife, he had to ‘take care of some things,’ according to investigators, and he ‘took care of two girls and three guys.’ Later, he confessed to selling the knife.

According to WMAR 2 News, he reportedly revealed to authorities that he had asked a woman for a lighter and liked Marlboro Reds, which were located on the scene.

According to WMAR 2 News, Zaib was recognized by Maryland police based on his NYC backpack, which was discovered inside the apartment he shared with his father in Maryland and was seen on security tape.

The victim reportedly underwent a SAFE examination, which revealed symptoms of violence.
