The prestigious event took place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, USA. In his acceptance speech, Rema graciously acknowledged the contributions of Nigerian music giants Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid, recognizing their role in elevating Afrobeats to global prominence.
Awards and Recognition at the Headies
Rema’s success extended beyond the MTV VMAs. He also made a significant impact at the recently concluded Headies Awards. At this prestigious Nigerian music awards ceremony, Rema clinched multiple awards, including Best Male Artist, Best Digital Artist, and Best African Artist. Furthermore, the music video for the “Calm Down” remix, directed by Director K, received the accolade for Best Music Video. Selena Gomez, Rema’s collaborator on the international hit “Calm Down,” emerged as the International Artiste of the Year at the same event, further solidifying Rema’s place on the global music stage.
