Do you recall the Super Bowl victory the Rams had? Things in Los Angeles have deteriorated so swiftly since less than a year ago.

Early on Friday morning, star cornerback Jalen Ramsey sent a series of cryptic tweets that seemed to imply that he would leave the Rams or the NFL altogether, adding to the lingering Super Bowl hangover.

What is, is, is! What was was what was! If that’s all, I left on a high note! That remains!” Ramsey sent a tweet.

Following that, he sent out a slew of tweets, the first of which said: “Seasons moving around, I come through them bih still burning as if I didn’t notice… the ride.”

In a third tweet, he stated: “Loyalty is precious & that’s all I need. Love All,” and in a fourth, he stated: “Shid is so blatant, it defeats the point.”

Ramsey, 28, may have been been celebrating the 2022 campaign, in which the Rams went 5-12, the lowest winning percentage in NFL history for a team that had won the Super Bowl the year before. However, if it was an indication that he was leaving Los Angeles or the league as a whole, it would be another another blow to a franchise that has already suffered a number of them recently.

Sean McVay, the head coach of the Rams, is allegedly reconsidering leaving after reportedly rejecting a sizable offer from Amazon over the summer to stay with the team. Liam Coen, the offensive coordinator, reportedly accepted the same post at the University of Kentucky after ESPN reported that McVay had granted key coaches freedom to look for other employment.

Injuries also cost the squad a number of important players. Due to a spinal cord injury, quarterback Matthew Stafford missed a significant portion of the second half of the season. He also struggled with elbow tendinitis while on the field. Cooper Kupp, a wide receiver who is also the 2021 Offensive Player of the Year, had a high ankle sprain that kept him out for eight games. Aaron Donald, a future Hall of Famer, also sustained a severe ankle sprain.

Due to their years of haggling, the Rams are also missing a first-round selection in 2023 and are anticipated to go $9 million over the wage limit in the ensuing season. Now that they have won the title, they must pay the price.
