Prince Oyekan, LNSA Chairman, Says Deployment of agency’s Officer Primary and Secondary Schools Enhances Security

The deployment and presence of Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) Corps personnel to public primary and secondary schools across the State increased security, according to Prince (Dr.) Ifalade Oyekan, the agency’s General Manager.

Prince Oyekan, speaking at the Safety Arena Complex in Bolade Oshodi recently about the LNSA’s activities, said that the initiative to deploy officers to supplement the security situation in public schools in order to reduce the rate of crime-related activities among students is yielding positive results.

He explained that the Corps’ establishment of the ‘Stop N Search’ policy before children were permitted entry into schools resulted in the finding of deadly weapons and illicit drugs in the luggage of some pupils, resulting in an improvement in security.

Dr. Oyekan recommended parents to supplement the work of LNSA personnel stationed in public schools by paying more attention to their children’s activities and the company they keep in order to prevent bad influences.

He thanked Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for providing the LNSA with working tools, and reiterated that the LNSA is ready and eager to work with relevant state authorities to improve security in all parts of Lagos.
