President Muhammadu Buhari expressed his condolences on Thursday in response to the passing of Abdulhamid Babatunde, a renowned journalist and writer who was the editor of many newspapers, including the now-defunct Democrat in Kaduna.
The President said:
“Abdulhamid Babatunde was a distinguished writer and journalist. He contributed extensively to our elections in 2015 and 2019. He worked to strengthen the journalism profession as an eminent writer and unionist. Always full of energy and ideas, passionate about Nigeria’s development, he will be missed by so many people.
“His demise leaves a huge void in the media. May Allah repose his soul and grant fortitude to his family and friends to bear the loss.”
