President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to deliver the eulogy at late King of amaMpondo, Zanozuko Tyelovuyo Sigcau’s Funeral Service

At the funeral of the late King of amaMpondo, Zanozuko Tyelovuyo Sigcau, President Cyril Ramaphosa is set to deliver the eulogy.

The President has given the King of AmaMpondo a Category 1 official funeral. In 2018, he was crowned King of the amaMpondo country.

“During his term, he energetically championed the amaMpondo Kingdom’s development and progress, uniting the people to become active citizens.”

“King Zanozuko Tyelovuyo Sigcau was an activist, a sports fan, and a cultural curator who made a significant contribution to improving people’s lives through various initiatives to address social issues such as Gender-Based Violence,” according to the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS).

In accordance with this categorization, the President has directed that the National Flag be flown at half-mast from the morning of Wednesday, June 15, 2022, until the evening of the burial.

The funeral will take place in Flagstaff, Eastern Cape Province, on Tuesday. At 10 a.m., the service will begin.

Book of condolences

Throughout the province of the Eastern Cape, condolence books have been put at various government and municipal facilities.

Members of the public who wish to send a condolence message to the amaMpondo Kingdom are encouraged to do so by writing their messages in the condolence books.

House of Khoisan and Traditional Leaders in Bisho Alfred Nzo District Municipality in EMaXesibeni (Mount Ayliff) OR Tambo District Municipality in Mthatha Ingquza Hill Local Municipality in Flagstaff Eastern Cape
