Portable explains his side of the story
Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has opened up about what transpired between him and an alleged internet fraudster who brought the police to arrest him recently.
The ‘Zazoo’ crooner made headlines after he was captured in a viral video lambasting some officers who stormed his bar in the Sanga Ota area of Ogun State to arrest him.
Ultimatum given to Portable
The singer resisted arrest, boasting that he was a superstar and worked for the ruling party.
Consequently, the Ogun State Police Command on Wednesday gave him a 72-hour ultimatum to report himself to the nearest police station before Friday or prepare for arrest.
Portable’s Explanation
In a new video shared on his Tiktok page, Portable maintained that what transpired between him and the complainant was none of the police’s business.
He explained that the petitioner was his apprentice and was into internet fraud against his advice.
He said he disciplined the ex-worker after he refused to change his ways and sacked him.
Portable added that the ex-worker went to the police station and filed a case of assault against him for merely correcting him.
Speaking in a mix of Pidgin English and Yoruba, the singer said that he beat the boy because he was his apprentice and was into internet fraud.
He advised him to quit but he refused and continued with the scam.
He further explained that he flogged him to discipline him and the ex-worker then went to the police station to file a petition against him.
Celebrity and Yahoo Boy
Portable expressed his frustration that a Yahoo boy was able to come and lay a complaint against him.
He stated that his work is legit, and he does music for a living.
He further added that he is not afraid of anyone except God.
