Thursday, Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, responded to Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval’s “embarrassing” remarks.

Pureval, who declared in an official city proclamation that Patrick Mahomes has never defeated Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, curiously asked Burrow to take a paternity test to prove whether he is Patrick’s biological father.

Brittany responded to the mayor’s message with, “Weak and embarrassing.”

The post has been seen over 2.2 million times as of early Saturday morning, one day prior to Patrick’s Chiefs and Burrow’s Bengals’ AFC championship rematch.

The mayor of Kansas City, Quinton Lucas, stated, “I’ve heard that the mayor of Cincinnati attempted to bring in some hellishly feeble smoke.” “No response required. KC is a gentleman. The city of Cincinnati has Jerry Springer but no rings. See you on Sunday!”

Fans of both brands criticized the announcement, describing the trash talk as “grotesque.”

One individual tweeted, “This was not funny; it was embarrassingly cringeworthy.”

“@Chiefs, please be assured that nobody in Ohio finds this amusing or necessary. Good Lord. “I don’t blame you for hating us even more after this, but please understand that real fans do not behave in such a ridiculous manner,” another user replied below the Mayor’s post.

“I cannot tolerate Bengals fans. PLEASE shower them with champagne from your suite. In reference to Brittany’s prior behavior during the Chiefs’ dramatic AFC Divisional Round victory against the Bills in 2022, another Twitter user stated, “Most Bengal fans have never even tasted champagne and could never afford it.”

Following intense scrutiny, Pureval made an apology to Bengals supporters.

Pureval stated, “My competitive nature and affection for Cincinnati got the best of me.” “My bad. Maintaining hunger and humility. See you Sunday. Who Dey baby!”

The Chiefs are 2-2 in their last four conference championship games and are hosting their sixth consecutive AFC championship game.

In overtime, the Bengals defeated the Chiefs by a score of 27-24, securing their first Super Bowl berth since 1988.

The highly anticipated rematch of last year’s AFC championship game will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
