Two wicked parents who tormented their 5-year-old daughter by forcing her to lie in an ice-cold bath until ‘death was mere minutes away’ have been sentenced to more than three years in prison each.

The court heard that the child’s mother, Georgia Newman, 29, and her boyfriend, Jordan Michael Kilkenny, 29, administered the severe punishment for up to three hours for misbehavior.

The terrified couple delayed contacting an ambulance for 30 to 45 minutes while attempting to warm the child themselves, the court heard, because they were preoccupied with themselves until the child eventually fainted.

The girl was unconscious, blue, and frothing at the mouth when the paramedics arrived at the home in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

Later, she suffered a seizure and was placed on a ventilator, despite physicians’ dire prognoses that she would not live.

Prosecutors claim that they used a ‘Bair Hugger’ heated blanket to increase her body temperature and a bladder wash to force warm fluid into her body.

Georgia Newman, 29, who was heavily pregnant, ordered her boyfriend Jordan Michael Kilkenny to put her five-year-old daughter in an ice-cold bath, nearly killing her, before reporting to rescuers that the youngster had suffered a head injury. She served three years and six months in prison.

The 29-year-old Jordan Michael Kilkenny told the cops he had no idea why she was cold. However, his online search history revealed that he had Googled the effects of a 45-minute cold bath on a youngster. He served three years and four months in prison.

The paramedic was unable to straighten her out because she was so stiff from the cold, according to prosecutor Richard Woolfall.

The child’s core body temperature had dropped to 25 degrees Celsius, around 12 degrees below normal.

One medical specialist compared it to a person who had been “floating in the North Sea” and stated that he had never seen anyone survive such intense hypothermia.

However, against all odds, the child recovered completely and now resides with her biological father.

After their arrest, Newman stated that the infant had fallen and struck her head, while Kilkenny stated that he had no idea why she was chilly.

The court heard that he had previously Googled what would happen if a youngster was placed in a cold bath for 45 minutes.

The youngster informed the authorities that Kilkenny had placed her in the bathtub at her mother’s request for misbehavior.

Judge Robin Mairs, sentencing the couple at Leeds Crown Court (pictured), stated: ‘It was a cruel and unusual punishment, and you must have been aware that it would have caused substantial suffering.’

Alex Menary, mitigating for Newman, stated that the mother was pregnant and suffering from anxiety and despair at the time.

He stated, “She has had three years to consider her actions, and she really regrets what she did. There is obvious and sincere regret.’

Mark Foley, representing Kilkenny, stated, “He never intended to cause major injury.”

He is ashamed of his deeds.

They both admitted cruelty on the premise that they attempted to remove the child from the bath, but she refused.

Newman was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison, while Kilkenny received 3 years and 4 months.

Judge Robin Mairs remarked during sentencing, ‘It was a cruel and unusual punishment, and you must have been aware that it would have caused substantial discomfort.’

She was subjected to a cruel, harsh, and calculated punishment.

The medical professionals recognized that the patient’s death was imminent. That was the penalty meted out to your daughter.

“I have little doubt that the delay in contacting an ambulance was motivated by concern for yourself and not the youngster.

Your parental responsibility is equivalent.
