Operative police recover 56 goats and 10 sheep

In the early hours of Saturday, January 21, 2023, fifty-six goats and ten sheep were discovered during the intelligence-driven operation that began at midnight in Zone 4 of the Waterburg District.

Additionally, six people have been arrested for alleged stock theft in the North West.

Members of Mokopane Crime Intelligence and Tinmyne Crime Prevention Unit rushed to the property in Ga-Madiba village, which is part of the Mahwelereng police precinct, after receiving information that animals were being detained there.

They located a 36-year-old guy who claimed the livestock belonged to his brother when they arrived.

His sibling was not present when law enforcement arrived.

The occupant of the residence was not held, and the animals were ultimately taken to the Mokopane SPCA for safekeeping.

Additionally, a police operation retrieves 48 heads of livestock that had been stolen.

Police request that anybody with missing livestock come forward.
The Mokopane SPCA requests that anyone who has lost cattle come forward for positive identification.
