This morning, on the twenty-first day of protests that have created havoc in the city, Just Stop Oil demonstrators blocked a prominent intersection in central London.

At approximately 10:50 a.m., approximately twenty-two eco-activists halted traffic at a road intersection near Holborn tube station, demanding that the government halt all new oil and gas development.

Others attached themselves to the asphalt while others sat in the street with banners. In the meantime, a car was spotted snatching a protester’s banner from his hands.

This morning, some 22 eco-protesters halted traffic at a road intersection near Holborn tube station.

The group is demanding that all new oil and gas production be halted.

One protestor, Patrick Walker, 33, a council employee from Newport, said: ‘I realized then that the government wouldn’t listen, and I had to act if I wanted a future for my family. I have no choice except to fight back.

Adam Beard, a 53-year-old gardener from Stroud, stated that he had “had enough of government falsehoods and inactivity on the climate catastrophe” and is therefore taking action.

He continued, “I hope that my activities in support of Just Stop Oil will motivate other average citizens to take a stand against this administration’s destructive energy policies.”

Today’s blockage is the culmination of 21 days of protests that have created havoc throughout the capital.

The police have thus far made 539 arrests.
