Ohio State’s Gee Scott commits a head-butt in Michigan’s loss

Saturday’s Michigan-Ohio State game took a particularly negative turn for the Buckeyes.

After head-butting a defender in the middle of the third quarter against the Wolverines in Columbus, Ohio, Gee Scott Jr. was penalized severely.

The junior tight end caught a ball that would have given Ohio State 15 yards, a first down, and put the Buckeyes within field goal range. After the play was completed, though, Scott Jr. viciously head-butted a Michigan player on the sideline in front of the official.

The head-butt and supplemental holding call moved Ohio State back to a 1st-and-35 situation.

Additionally, it occurred at a crucial moment, with Michigan ahead 24-20. Ohio State was ultimately forced to punt on the drive.

The Wolverines added 21 more points on their way to a 45-23 blowout victory. It was Michigan’s first victory at Ohio State since 2000. It is also the first time since 2000 that the Wolverines have defeated the Buckeyes in consecutive seasons.
